Hive Has Nearly Everything It Needs For Massive Success

For me I've been on this hive blockchain since it's birth and if you want to include that other place then it's been a little over 6 years now. I admit when Hive first came to be I was a little annoyed and figured my investment was a wash as was the case with many things launching at the time. I didn't keep up with the ins and outs and then eventually returned mainly because I wanted to play Splinterlands

It wasn't until that point that I really got invested into things like voting on proposals, changing up witness votes, getting involved with LEOFinance in a bigger way and overall just investing time, money and resources daily into it all.

The last two years going on three has seen a lot of changes here on the hive blockchain.

What was once simply a few community tokens has ballooned into gaming p2e, new game releases, new communities, a evolution in tokenization on the layer two of hive and more.

A few of those massive projects would be...

3Speak

Which offers a video hosting platform which is decentralized. It also has it's own nodes, exchange, tokens and more.
The only things this platform is missing at the moment that would make it a true powerhouse would be...

Ad revenue from limited ads mainly video ads as they pay the best to support the tokens price and pay out creators and curators.

Shorts a way to support short from videos and have it added into the UI and not publish directly to the hive blockchain as a new blog post every time.

Evergreen The big benefit with Youtube etc is it pays creators past 7 days while the current setup would only support the initial votes from hive only. If a type of evergreen revenue could be created would be a great benefit.

If these things where implemented I could see 3speak really start taking off as a serious competitor but without it I hate to say it but only a very few people are off on it being truly decentralized.

LeoFinance

Offers up the "everything app" but really all it has going for it right now is threads and long form. While I know many things are in development and soon coming to the platform I'm hoping they come sooner than later.

Ad Revenue there's been a lot of talk about this including long form articles being able to earn. My hopes are this starts kicking in the next two months.

Swaps LeoFinance front end could be a hub wallet for doing swaps in both Polygon, Binance and Hive. Collecting fees that could go back into development or even better back into those staking LEO perhaps.

There's a lot of options with LEO and how it's shaping up and being built. My hopes are we just start seeing those flagship items sooner rather than later and spaced out in a constructive marketing way.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands is actully going to heat up here in a big way and has been for a good last few months. One of the critical aspects of it is the incorporation of swaps. It's one of the powerful ways the Hive is in the swap/defi space already by awarding fees to liquidity providers much like we have been seeing in the new V3 of DeFi platforms.

With the soon introduction of land and then resource production on lands I see see this place of hive heating up as swaps will become a very common thing with the 10+ new tokens that will be release.

The only thing I'm really hoping here from the Splinterlands team would be to incorporate the swaps directly into the game. By allowing players to swap 10+recource tokens, SPS and DEC I have a feeling it could boom into a massive profitable venture for all involved.

So there you have it. Hive is getting there, it's come a long way. But it's still lacking core features of a blockchain in terms of quality applications. Things like a NFT marketplace, ad revenue and other aspects. However there's awesome and powerful groundwork there which I'm hoping some of these platforms really jump on and start moving on.

The amount of revenue and value here on Hive is simply huge and I think if more devs saw the power that hive offers them including a community, native token and blogging rewards for their projects updates we could see a huge move in not only value but also userbase as applications are the single most powerful way to get people in the door.
