Hive Offers Passive Income In Crypto / Stablecoins

Hive Offers More Passive Income

If you didn't know I'm a HUGE advocate for "passive income" with the understanding that passive income really isn't passive. There's always at least some amount of work or investment that has to be done to keep it running. HOWEVER with that passive income is a way to generate more revenue and assets with less time than trading hours to pay like a job.

One of the biggest things I love about Hive is just how many passive income methods have been born from it in the last two years. I would even go as far as saying it's one of the best blockchains that offers more passive income methods than any other blockchain.

Let's take a look at a few and feel free to comment below if you know and use any others. Some of these might be off shoots of Hive but starting out we will focus on Hive only.

*This article is for entertainment purposes only and is not financial advise.

NFTs and Gaming

Yes, not fully passive but again many of these games require minimal time and investment in order to get started. I'll break each game down with just a list of points about how passive income is generated.

Splinterlands Yes the granddaddy of all games on hive right now. Splinterlands has shot even above Axie in terms of player numbers however it still lacks the market cap which I feel will continue to grow over time as the game evolves and rolls out new features.

Passive Income Methods With Splinterlands

  • Investors in SPS tokens earn on staking rewards and vouchers possibly other methods coming soon
  • Playing the game earns you NFT cards which could be sold or better yet rented out
  • Soon lands will generate resources/spells and items to be used in battles another passive income stream if you own them
  • SPS and DEC both cryptos earned from Splinterlands can also be added to DeFi pools on CubDefi They can also be added to BeeSwap or Diesel pools.

Passive Income With RisingStar

This little game is free to join and you'll start building your deck and missions in no time. From that you'll get starbits and even some starpro later on. With just a few clicks your band gets to work and starts earning you starbits. These starbits can be used for a number of things.

  • Buying NFT packs and using/selling the cards
  • Using starbits in diesel pools to earn passive income

Passive Income with DCity

Dcity was one of the first passive income NFT games. It was I believe a head of it's time and is now starting to become something amazing. It's always been a great way to generate revenue daily from your city you invest NFT type cards into. These cards produce not only SIM the token of the game but also other NFT card assets which can be used to boost your city or sold.

  • Earning NFT cards that can be sold or used to boost sim
  • NFT cards earn SIM token daily
  • Sim can be added to Swap hive / diesel pools for more passive income

Hive In General

Hive is the token of the Hive blockchain and is more and more turning into a resource type credit for the blockchain. However right now you can earn hive itself by writing blog posts, leaving valuable comments on others posts, curating content, running a witness node. Not all of these are very passive however the build the funds to start adding to those passive incomes.

There are all tribes or what I like to better call communities. These communities are powerful groups that are mainly focused on something that is built on top of hive. For example LeoFinance.io is a community around anything finances.

I picked LeoFinance because it has some of the biggest use cases out of all of the tribes. It can be wrapped on both the Binance smartchain for Defi usage on CubDeFi and Ethereum to be used in defi/geyser pools there (I don't know enough about those however to write more about it yet) soon you'll be able to use it on Polygon Defi.

HBD or Hive dollar is another way to generate passive income. This is one of the most passive methods on Hive. Simply saving your HBD into your savings account which locks it for 3 days and earn at the moment 12% interest on it. That means for every $100,000 you have in savings it should earn you $12,000 yearly throw in some monthly compounding and it will be a little higher.

Closing

These are just a few of the ways you can earn passive income right here on the Hive blockchain. There's actully a lot more including new games being built, additions to current games, airdrops and so much more all of these are at your fingertips you just have to take action and start using the hive blockchain for yourself.

I've personally been doing this for 5 years now and I have to say Hive is one of the best platforms in terms of what is offered to it's community. There's a lot of great people here including myself that are willing to help, answer questions, onboard new users and content creators and developers.

If you enjoy these types of articles let me know in the comments. If I get enough response I'll do a deep dive into each of the passive increase streams themselves.

I really need to focus in on some of the passive methods a little more than I do. I don't think I'm efficient.

On a side note Im coming across new people wanting to join hive from the nft gaming world and I find it hard to teach them how to start. It's not as seamless as I would like at this point. Where do you go for a free account?

Oh trust me I know... That's the biggest issue with hive and something I've been asking for instead of all this marketing crap for the last year and a half. Finally it seems like maybe they are getting clued in but who knows lol.

LeoFinance is a good place but also for a more general UI ecency is good. They will set them up with a bit of hive delegated to them to create the account and be able to do some basic transactions.

Otherwise Spinterlands but you pay $10

Ive seen ecency. I'll take a closer look. I've been playing alien ships and keeping talking about hive in the discord. People are interested but I make it sound way too hard. I'm trying to get someone from the game to make some tutorials. Right now they have too much game and not enough players. Their new pilots league started today and it's fun but way too much game going on there for a complete newb to understand. I just don't know enough to write tutorials but they should be published on hive for sure.

lol alien ships is cool I still only have two ships and feel like I've fallen so far behind in that game now.

I know but these games shouldn't be set up for people to fall behind. They just need solid tutorials so people can play at their own pace. I told those guys, too much game too soon lol

They will delegate some hive to a new account upon sign up I do believe.

I just tried creating an account for a friend and it was successful. I haven't checked if there's any delegation though.

There are really great ways to earn passive income in Hive, from the blockchain games, curation, and content creation, sometimes I can think how people could keep up. But if people heard about the Cartel, they don't have to keep up about everything XD

Joining the Cartel means investing in everything :)

I’m a big fan of dCrops, too !BRO

Alpha sold out in weeks, and beta is just around the corner, which promises to have some very interesting updates.

I’ve tried getting into Exode, but thus far it’s eluded me, but I hear good things about it.

Dcrops is good but there's such a limit for new players right now. Curious about new cards and when that will release. Exode is complicated AF lol but that might be what creates it's value later. I tend to think the little stupid games that are super easy do best.

Same, although a game with insane complexity can grow to massive proportions if it can stay afloat long enough to get legs under it.

Agree with dCrops. It is pricey for new comers right now, but the gameplay is virtually passive.

You plant, harvest a few days-two weeks later and sell your harvest. I only recently figured out a little deeper play aspect to using the land boosts in conjunction with the speed grow & ferti+ boosters to get a little more yield from different seeds.

That’s just to say I enjoy the flexibility of it, and can delve deeper, or just earn a little less when I want to put less time and effort invested. I’d like to see more games like it.

I really love Splinterlands, but I’m rather tied to it at this point. It supplements my income so to some extent it’s a job, especially as of late, with competition being so brutal, and the prices of DEC/SPS/SPT/land/totems/out of print packs/voucher, etc, all dropping.

Plus having to dedicate time every two days at the least to maintain max daily quest returns, and guild requirements still requires scheduling. I don’t even throw my entry fee away on tournaments anymore. 🙄

Speaking of guild requirements…
More time goes to brawls that isn’t even really compensated for, considering the burn value of gladiator cards vs the power they bring to a team.

I think Splinterlands is hands down the most inclusive of the varying aspects of what Play2Earn looks like, but I’m looking forward to the day the bot services for hire can play my cards better than I can. 🤣

I ask people this same questions, what can you do with your favorite blockchain? If I start with hive I could write a thousand words and probably not cover all. I love that I don’t exactly have to foray outside of Hive before having a great crypto experience

Same here! Hive is pretty much the center of my life. It's where I work and play. Win and lose. Kill it and bleed in the streets...

I don't take advantage of all these passive income aspects of the blockchain. Thank you for pointing them out and raising awareness of them all

Thanks for sharing @bitcoinflood. I am trying to earn some passive income by playing SPlinterland more regularly and renting my cards... I don't know the other two games you mentioned but I will take a look at them... I am also stacking some of my tokens, like LEO and POB, in order to gain something from them

But still, I feel that I could do a lot more, and use HIVE in a much better way... and thanks to posts like yours this is much easier

Passive income is more of having numerous streams of income that doesn't require much active work. Hive is indeed a great source of such income. You can choose to either be a blogger, a gamer, a curator or a liquidity provider and you'll still earn by just clicking your phone or PC buttons

After trying several crypto opportunities on Ethereum and other blockchains, I found Hive to the best among all. There's a plethora of opportunities within the same ecosystem. While the whole crypto markets are down, creators/investors on Hive still make shit ton of money.

Gaming on the Hive blockchain is killing it and these alone ensure a steady revenue stream. If you simply add content creation around these and you are striking gold. And these games have strong support and hefty accounts to give meaningful rewards to bloggers and curators.

I’m holding LVL which should soon start dropping psyberX crates. Anyone holding 200k LVL will get a crate (they might have upped it to 2) every 60 days until the 100,000 crates are gone. Another passive income… but LVL is getting pricey. 200k is $800 at this point, still has lots of room to grow.

Hive really does have a plethora of passive income earning strategies. GameFi seems to certainly be one of the top earners these days. DEFI alone is cool, but when you combine it with a game, it really can't be stopped. Great article as always!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge here. Although on several of the examples you gave I’m already acting, playing the games stacking HBD etc, I love to read articles like this. There’s always some new things to learn and possibly squeeze out some extra growth. As Hive is such a dynamical environment with new stuff developed and launched its impossible to keep track. These overview posts are super nice to safe some time for a lot of people!

Thanks :-)

For some people it is hard to believe, but in Hive you have the solution to many things and it is also a safe way to generate income, the one I like the most at the moment is risingstar.

We don't need to go outside of Hive to remain busy and earn. I am engaged with all Hive p2e games.

HBD interest rates are too good. A nice way to earn passively while saving something for rainy days.
