The Gaming Cartel - Hive Support and Growth

Ever since gaming started to hit crypto and blockchain I’ve been a huge advocate of it. In fact, if you didn’t know my second business I started 2 years ago centers around content creators on Twitch and Youtube and many of them I’ve started to bring over to Hive and it’s supporting platforms like 3SPK and Splinterlands.

Because of this and my firm belief that gaming will be one of the core driving forces for web3, crypto and returning power back to content creators and just people in general instead of mega corps I’ve started to invest.

Right now I don’t have the means to build my own applications on Hive as I don’t have a team with those capabilities and understanding of the hive platform. That will however come at a later date. For now the best option I have is what I’ve become best at. Finding opportunities to invest in for startups and provide them the capital and marketing to achieve success.

Hives a pretty wild west of the cryptos at the moment. We are seeing more hive divided up to more people creating a more decentralized type rewards platform but also the amount of new projects being launched.

Current Hive Games

Right now there are a few games I play on Hive and have bought cards in.

Splinterlands - Is one of my largest market cap values in hive. There was once a time I touched near 1 million in assets and since then of course with the market crash it's been pushed down a bit. However there's a lot coming to Splinterlands this year I feel will make it even more popular and drive prices to new all time highs.

Dcrops - I invested a little into this one but not much. It’s a very passive in nature game but I’m curious what they do with it when they come out with the next pack drop here in the next few months.

Rising Star - This game seems to be a real winner and I feel like it has huge potential being teamed up with the VIBES token and promotion of music.

dCity - I believe this was the second type game to hive after Splinterlands and it’s become one of the most popular “investing” style games. It’s had it’s real world case battles though lol

HashKings - Is a solid little game, I will admit it was difficult for me to understand at first on how to get started but both the team and community helped out and we are now up and running.

eXode - This games been a long work in progress but once it’s up and running I have a feeling it should be pretty well.

LVL & psyberx - is a new gaming type company that is releasing hive based games. The first being psyberx a first person shooter. Will be interesting to see how this one turns out when it launches.

Because I’m so involved with these games I really am starting to consider setting up a second hive account dedicated to just gaming. It would also be a way for me to support the content creators I bring over from the gaming space better. But not only that better track and invest in other startups on hive. Perhaps that is something I’ll end up doing after this post.

For me this was one of the first ways to help support these projects by buying the assets and promoting it. However, hive is starting to become so big that it’s often hard to keep up with it all. Plus I’m not solely focused on gaming in fact this account is mainly business and finance with some gaming like this post I’m tossing in. I have a feeling though I would be better off setting up a second account for gaming but I’m not sure if I’m up for swapping back and forth between hive accounts all the time. We will see… thoughts?

The Cartel

Because of this I’ve mainly been looking for other leaders in the industry and I have to say a big one is standing out. That’s the 1up community and with that the Cartel! Right now the Cartel token doesn’t do much of anything but it should here soon and will act as a type of governance style token for it all. Dividends will most likely be paid out to it’s holders in the gaming space.

What exactly is the Cartel?

It’s a group of gamers and investors that invest funds into crypto based games on Hive but also a few other blockchains. However the primary focus seems to be hive which is why I’m throwing more and more support that way.

They play these games and write up great guides and information on them which are perfect for onboarding new users. On top of that they have accumulated over $100,000 worth of tribe tokens which are used to curate quality content in the gaming space. At some point soon those Cartel tokens will begin to pay out dividends to their holders.

Overall it seems like a solid platform that could baloon into something bigger such as a incubator for new name games on Hive. Unsure if this is the end goal but in any case it feels like it will become a critical part of gaming on hive. The first seems to be a new game called ChiFi Bots which I invested in and brought in $103,000 investment from the community. That's HUGE!

I'm not sure what is coming when, but I think beta will get cooking and recipes, and later there's will be ores or coal or something so I guess there'll be land to mine or harvest to craft tools to improve yields... I'm mostly talking out of my ass, but I've seen some new artwork recently that supports some of it. ;P

I think I invested enough into ChiFibots to have the starter cards (2 of each type). Has there been any updates about it because I think I heard someone say that ChiFibots would be on a different block chain. However I am not really that sure.

As for the broken link, I think the entire thing doesn't link oneup posts correctly. So you might have to manually put down the link to make sure it works or link to a different front end.

The play2earn model is attracting more people and with that more games will begin to pop up using it. It's obviously impossible to be involved in all of them as an individual that's why I believe as a passive income investment The Cartel is incredible right now.
