Splinterlands art Contest week#283 (Fire Elemental)

Splinterlands community on Hive blog holds a art contest weekly .To take part in it all the participants are to draw or make something inspired by splinterlands Cards from Splinterlandscards.com and just Use their own art style creativity to make something similar or take it as an inspiration , kind of like dtyis contests. As for the rules very simple don't cheat , don't copy paste , No plagiarism Do your own thing .Only one entry per week .

Now that you know about the contest here I'm again like any other week . For my entry this week I'm making a really fierce cool card Called "Fire Elemental" .

So the Character is basically just fire and a female as a djinn or fire mermaid with fire balls in her hands .So the dress the hair everything is just Flames and it's beautiful in its own way. TBH I have seen many people make amazing Artworks inspired by this card and I wanted to try too.

My art style is a bit like cartoony so Keeping the characteristics in mind I went down and sketched it all up. The sleeves and I make the flame all sharp and wobbly I did her hair this was too like Hades from Hercules but since this is a female so I made the hair more longer the half bottom flames are like a mermaid tale so I did that too and gave her some sassy expressions . That's our initial sketch .

Now I import this sketch in Medibang paint pro which is a digital drawing app and I just start tracing all the sketch making each section on a different layer . I first started tracing out the hair and fire balls because those two will be the most glowy flames .
Next I did all her flame dress and tail . Lastly I did her expressions the brush I used for this is called pen sharp brush . Now that my lineart is all done I will start coloring it.

Before filling in flat colors this week I added an extra new step that is I made a pallette before hand just so I can color it in a really cool way and all colors match one another . Now I selected the base color which in this case was a scarlet and deep maroon shade . I selected the area outside of my character and did the selection inverse option then I filled in the base colors .

After this I clipped new layer on and just put different shades of fire in each flame section like the oranges and tangerine tones and pale yellow. Next I added some more yellow to the dress and tail too with the pen sharp brush again. Now I just guassian blurred the flame tones a bit and added a gradient on top with alll the flame colors and it looked so cute even in this I could see my character coming out as real .

Now I added some highlights to her face and eyes and her torso I also added the highlights to eyes . After this I added blue gradient to the background because yellow and blue complement each other alot but for me this background was a bit light . I then Colored all the lineart accordingly .

The basic layer that we did first I duplicated it and alpha locked the layer just painted it all Pale yellow took alpha lock off and guassian blurred it . This gives it a glowy look .

Since the background seemed off I turned it more dark and saturated .After this I added my Water mark did some color adjustments.
