BATTLE Weekly Challenge - Half Man, Half Horse with a Bow

Hey Summoners,

For this week's Challenge battle i bring you Centaur !!

Centaur is an OG Neutral Beta card with Snipe ability so its kinda usable in most situation. Due to the rise of Untamed and Chaos Legion cards i would feel that it has seen lesser use and quite situational.

Summoner - Thaddius Brood

New Chaos Legion Summoner, following the tradition of Death summoners to de-buff opponents monsters. Pretty decent summoner for those magic spammers.

The Battle Rules @ Gold 3

  • 29 Mana
  • Water / Death
  • Little League, only 4 cost and lesser Creatures
  • Spreading Fury, all creatures got Enrage

Strategy

Both Water and Death is not my preferred splinter but i choose Death as i have better death cards and they have better lower cost units like the Zombie which have Void to block magic damage. Usually in little leagues players will put some magic units so this works well. The centaur fits well in this rules set providing quite high damage, speed and tankiness for its 4 cost.

The Lineup

  • Da Tank - Zombie guy
    High health and Void makes this very good tank for this ruleset in combination with the summoners -Magic damage ability. This being below cost 4, i wont see too much of a magic damage that the zombie cant handle.

  • Mid DPS - Ureaus
    Soemething low cost to deal with the back line. Cant think of any beter.

  • Mid DPS - Venari Bonesmith
    Doesnt have Poison as the summoner is only lvl 3 but the life leach makes this slightly tanky if the front two dies.

  • Ranged DPS - Centaur
    2 Damage snipe, with a decently fast speed. Can easily kill off the healers in this Little League rulset.

  • Healer - Monk
    Finally Death gets a healer with this Neutral guy that gets heals at lvl 2 !!! Looking like my new favorite card when im using Fire or Death which traditionally doesnt have any healer.

  • Backline DPS - DR Blight
    I really love this guy. Camo make sure he stays alive long enough to apply both poison and affliction on the opponent tanks !!!

Once the battle opens i must say i felt pretty good as i am facing only level ones and the lack of damage from the other side as magic damage is taken out of the equation. The extra armor will probably slow the fight down as most of my damage is Melee/Ranged based, but i should take this unless very bad RNG due to Enrage.

At Round 2 they already lost 2 units due to Snipe and cause their monk is only level 1 so it doesn't have heals, not that it matters as Dr Blight will deal with it thru affliction.

Round 3, i lost my tank and Ureaus died too shortly after due to the Magic damage and them being faster overall. Unfortunately this means bad news for the opponent's side as the Bonesmith & if it comes to it the Monk is pretty tanky. I also have advantage being my last 2 units are Melee and Magic so they can both attack while ranged cant attack while in front.

Round 4 Start of round 4 the Poison Damage took out the Octopus and with only the Alchemist alive its 100% my win as the Alchemist cant do anything being a ranged unit. Strike 1 for team Dr Blight !

Conclusion & VICTORY

Quite a satisfactory win as this being Gold, it can end badly for me if i meet someone with the right cards. I do not have Gold level summoners for both Death and Water but i guess he is even worse than me, hahahaha. The power of Centaur shines during this ruleset as 2 damage Snipe + High speed is powerful when Mana cost is capped at 4, but there are much better units if the mana cost is not capped.

I really needed this post, because death splinter is my weakest link. I need to devote some time to get to know the cards better. This post will really help.
