Introducing SEA DOG of EIGHT

I was waiting to share my exclusive reveal for the @splinterlands Rebellion teases as I thought we had until Tuesday’s maintenance, but alas…I was wrong as the team just rolled out access to all Mavericks to check out. So without further ado, I present to you SEA DOG OF EIGHT.

Sea Dog is a Rare Water Melee monster who is looking fairly tank-y. Maxed stats have him packing a punch at 4 Hit Points, is quick on his feet…uh…paw…uh…flippers?!? He has modest shield standing at 2 and where he shines is with his longevity at 11 health…all at a middle ground 7 mana. Being a rare monster, a regular foil will take the typical 115 cards while the gold foil counterpart will max out at 22.

As for his abilities, he’s going to self heal which is always lovely, and he’s rocking the brand spanking new Corrosive Ward ability.

I’m absolutely jonesing to dive into the test server to not only try him out, but all the other insane cards being added into our constantly evolving meta. Buuuuut, I have last minute Land prep to do still…so not sure how much I’ll be able to dabble tonight. Regardless, I’ll get to getting my asses kicked by some of you soon enough.

Before wrapping up, I’d like to throw some kudos to @nateaguila and the team for working with the amazing community here, and allowing us all to be a part of this release in this manner. Splinterlands is an everyday part of my life and has been for the past several years. I’ve made friends here while opening my eyes to so much in this strange web3 gaming space that we occupy. I truly am grateful to be a part of this community and project, and am over the moon to be able to reveal a card to our world….even if I had to rush this out. 😝

The next several weeks are going to be action packed for us here. With the largest update and expansion of Lands being introduced tomorrow, to these very Rebellion cards being active the week after, and the new Airdrop Conflicts hopefully hitting the following week…we have alot to juggle. Assets prices have been performing well as we are starting to see really healthy signs in our economy that flows through the entirety of this project. All in all, I am over the moon to be here with you all.

So Mavs…get cracking on the test server and put some work in to test all of these cards. Make sure you are all ready to tackle Land tomorrow (especially all of you in 119 or Lonshire), and brave yourself for an exciting future here.
