Is Splinterlands worth it? - My fourth Splinterlands Season - Total Return on Investment
Welcome back to the fourth season of my Splinterlands career. Last season my in game investment was worth a total of $962.49. In total we had $815 invested last season. Meaning we were up $147.49 on the investment. This season we invested an additional $200. This brings the total investment to $1015. I also made a post recently about what I invested the $200 in. I will try to do that regularly.
Rentals are insane
This season we reached Gold III again. I do not have the CP yet for gold II. I am probably a $200-300 investment away from reaching the next Gold II league. I do not think the 3 additional chest is worth renting for at the end of the season. I rent out my additional cards for some extra DEC income at the end of the season. I keep 100K at the end of the season and the rest is rented out. The DEC returns on the last day are crazy. 98 DEC/day for 5K CP. Over a year that would be 300% ROA.
My best rewards
This season we got some better rewards than last season. I got a pack again. Packs always make me happy as they are quite rare. I also got 3 epic cards. In comparison to 1 last season. Also did anyone notice that this season was shorter or did it just feel like that. I am not sure.
DEC for SPS
As Splinterlands keep anouncing in their Town Hall that they will create more value for SPS and Vouchers I want to up the amount of SPS I own greatly. Therefor I traded some of my DEC for SPS. 5700 earned DEC from playing resulted in another 142 SPS staked. I will likely keep doing this in the near future so that I can stack up on vouchers and SPS. My SPS amount has greatly increased from last time.
Return on Investment.

$0.76 | $73,90 | $1,156.73* | $1.28 | $1.45 | $8.00 | $1,242.12 |
*Based op peakmonsters market prices.
As CL packs are still in sale for $4,00 that is their current worth to me and not the secondary market price. Same goes for the potions, they have their worth but are not sellable.
Prices are at time of writing.
Based on this information my Return on investment is +$227.12. In just my fourth season of playing. It grew with almost 100 in just 1 season. The potential of this game is just great. If you would like to follow this series. It would be nice if you could follow the account. If you write interesting Splinterlands articles yourself you can follow or comment. I am looking for other interesting content creators to read through their articles.
Good Luck everyone in the new season.

Thanks for the insight and analysis. I enjoy seeing in depth how the financial side is working out for other players.
Thank you. Much appreciated!
But what improved your value? did you really get $227 in rewards from daily end of season, or is it mainly SPS airdrop of market value increase?
Thank you for the question. My investment is completely in cards. I did not buy any SPS or DEC yet with my own money. The $227 is the total value gained over the 4 seasons that I played. Most of that value is probably in card appreciation. Some is from the daily chests, earning DEC by playing and renting and some is from SPS airdrops. It all adds up. I will give add this to my next post of the fifth season thank you!
