Potions do apply to the chest. Unless you un-checked it in the settings. They apply them to the chances to get a GF or Legendary, like in packs.

Oh really? I thought they took that away from the reward cards. Thanks for the heads up!
Did they? Made me check and the option to not use potions for reward cards is still there.
No point really banking the potions unless you intend to buy packs. The few CL packs from the chests don't really use that many potions anyways.
I guess they back tracked on it or something.
