SPS facing a comeback? / SPS vor dem Comeback?

The first 9 months so far.

Splintershards was launched about nine months ago, in July 2021. It is the governance token of the currently most successful blockchain game "Splinterlands". Governance means that whoever has staked SPS Token can have a say in the further development of the game from a certain point in time. The whole thing is supposed to run via a voting system (https://sps.splinterlands.com/in-game-governance).
Unfortunately, the price development over these first months is anything but good. The first hype drove SPS to about $ 1.10 ATH. After that it went down under high fluctuations to currently about 11 cents. That is a minus of over 90%.

The possible bottom and the next resistances.

The good news, however, is that if you look at the chart, it looks like a bottom is forming. Volatility has decreased sharply in recent weeks and 10 cents appears to be a strong support so far. From here, it would be important to first overcome the area between 12-13 cents, which would be a first bullish signal. If we would then still crack the 15 cents, the chances would not be bad that we run up to the 50 cents. This is roughly where the long-term downward trend runs.

What makes me confident?

Personally, I am currently confident that the 10 cents will actually hold and that we will run upwards again step by step. Why?
For one thing, every player has a certain interest in participating in the governance of the game he likes. And that can only be done by owning some SPS. One token later corresponds to one vote.
On the other hand, the AirDrop is coming to an end. There are still a little more than 100 days left but about two thirds of the time are up. After that, the influx and thus the supply of SPS will drop significantly. At the same time, I expect that demand from Splinterlands should remain fairly constant. There is a card series ("Riftwatchers") planned for Q3 2022 that can only be purchased with SPS.
In addition, staking is very attractive with currently over 25% APR. Even if the return rate there is gradually decreasing, staking rewards of more than 10% are rather rare and therefore basically interesting. So for the existing player base there are good reasons to hold SPS.
If we now consider that new players are added every day, the price will be pushed even higher because the demand will increase. Currently about 100 Spellbooks are bought per day, each of these new gamers will probably also look at SPS and want to collect a few of them for the above reasons. If another wave of players comes like we sag it last fall, the number of new Splinterlands Gamers interested in the Governance Token will increase even more, much more.
And last but not least: SPS got listed recently at the big Crypto.org Exchange, which will certainly get quite some attention from investors that believe in the Crypto PlayToEarn movement.

My target price

All in all I think it will take a few more weeks or even months but then the chances are pretty good for a SPS comeback. My target price until the end of the year is 50 cents. What do you think?

Die bisherigen 9 Monate

Vor etwa neun Monaten, im Juli 2021 wurde Splintershards gelauncht. Es ist der Governance Tokendes derzeit erfolgreichsten Blockchain Spiels „Splinterlands“. Governance heißt, wer SPS Token gestaked hat, der kann ab einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt über die Weiterentwicklung des Spiels mitentscheiden. Das Ganze soll über ein Voting System laufen (https://sps.splinterlands.com/in-game-governance).
Leider ist die Kursentwicklung über diese ersten Monate alles andere als gut. Der erste Hype trieb SPS auf rund $ 1.10 ATH. Danach ging es unter hohen Schwankungen abwärts auf derzeit rund 11 Cent. Das ist ein Minus von über 90%.

Der mögliche Boden und die nächsten Widerstände

Die gute Nachricht ist jedoch: Schaut man sich den Chart an, so sieht es nach einer Bodenbildung aus. Die Volatilität hat in den letzten Wochen stark abgenommen und die 10 Cent sind offenbar eine bislang starke Unterstützung. Von hier aus wäre es wichtig zunächst den Bereich zwischen 12-13 Cent zu überwinden, das wäre ein ersten bullishes Signal. Wenn wir dann noch die 15 Cent knacken würde ständen die Chancen nicht schlecht, dass wir an die 50 Cent heranlaufen. Dort verläuft in etwa der langfristige Abwärtstrend.

Was macht mich zuversichtlich?

Persönlich bin ich derzeit zuversichtlich, dass die 10 Cent tatsächlich halten und wir Schritt für Schritt wieder nach oben laufen. Warum?
Zum Einen hat wohl jeder Spieler ein gewisses Interesse daran, an der Governance des Spiels was er/sie mag teilzuhaben. Und das geht nur, indem man einige SPS besitzt. Ein Token entspricht später einer Stimme.
Zum Anderen geht der AirDrop zu Ende. Es sind zwar noch etwas mehr als 100 Tage aber etwa zwei Drittel der Zeit sind um. Danach wird der Zustrom und damit das Angebot von SPS deutlich zurück gehen. Gleichzeitig rechne ich damit, dass die Nachfrage seitens der Splinterlands recht konstant bleiben sollte. Es ist eine Kartenserie („Riftwatchers“) in Q3 2022 geplant, die man nur mit SPS kaufen kann.
Zudem ist das Staking mit derzeit über 25% APR sehr attraktiv. Auch wenn die Return Rate dort nach und nach zurück geht, Staking Rewards von mehr als 10% sind eher selten und daher grundsätzlich interessant. Für die bestehende Spielerbasis gibt es also gute Gründe SPS zu halten.
Wenn wir uns jetzt noch überlegen, dass jeden Tag neue Spieler dazu kommen, dann wird der Preis nochmals gepusht denn die Nachfrage steigt dadurch. Derzeit werden pro Tag rund 100 Spellbooks gekauft, jeder dieser Spieler wird sich wahrscheinlich auch SPS anschauen und aus den obigen Gründen ein paar davon sammeln wollen. Zudem könnte eine neuerliche Spielerwelle kommen wie letzten Herbst, dann dürften die Interessenten für den Governance Token noch viel deutlicher ansteigen.
Und zu guter Letzt: SPS wurde kürzlich an der großen Crypto.org Börse notiert, was sicherlich die Aufmerksamkeit von Investoren auf sich ziehen wird, die an die Crypto PlayToEarn-Bewegung glauben.

Mein Kursziel

Alles in allem denke ich wird es zwar noch ein paar Wochen oder auch Monate brauchen aber dann stehen die Chancen recht gut für ein SPS Comeback. Mein Kursziel bis Ende des Jahres sind jedenfalls 50 Cent. Was meint ihr?
