Share Your Battle Challenge: Gargoya Scrapper

I really like these Share Your Battle challenges because usually they feature a monster I never use. First I was kind of reluctant to write about them but took my chances with Scavo Firebolt and amazingly, through that getting to know your monster process, it has now become one of my used monsters with low mana fire battles!

So this time it's Life splinters Gargoya Scrapper's turn. This little creature has 1 melee attack point, 2 speed and 2 health on level 1. Seems quite weak but can be useful in the very low mana battles since it costs only 1 mana point.

My Team

I thought that my opponent would have chosen water magic with Ice Pixie and other low mana magic monsters. Therefore I chose Gargoya Scrapper to put in front with its Void ability.

Immediately I noticed making a few mistakes. By choosing Mother Khala to give my troops +1 health to survive longer in those poisonous fumes, I forgot that a level 1 summoner cannot handle this level 3 gold foil card. So no magic void this time. Also, my opponent chose Mother Khala as well and probably for the same reasons as me.

But I was going to use magic! I didn't want to waste precious time hitting their armors while the whole place was infested with toxic fumes. These two seen below here would be a great pair. Hopefully Scrapper could win some time for them.

I chose Djinn Renova with her Strengthen ability to support my team with another +1 health boost. Now combined with the summoner buff, Renova would have 8 health points, Scrapper 4 and Dax Paragon 5 health points. Dax here would offer some backup at the back having a nice amount of health(5) after the buffs.

Opponents Team

I can completely understand the choices made by my opponent. A level 3 Chaos Knight offers pretty decent attack power in the first spot. As I suspected, there would be someone with armor, and Chaos Knight has 3 armor points which would, unfortunately, become quite useless against my magic attacks. His Shield which would protect him from melee became obsolete.

Venari Crystalsmith was an excellent choice because she would heal the Knight and with (summoner buff included) she also has 5 health so she can stay up a couple of hours. After that, she would be healing herself.

The Battle (<-click here to watch)

Noxious Fumes -battles are usually very fast and this one didn't make an exception. My opponent had a little speed advantage and they immediately took out the poor Scrapper. To be completely honest, I chose Scrapper to be cannon fodder and it really took one for the team. Well done.

When it was my turn, the remaining Renova and Dax left the Chaos Knight with only 2 health points and the fumes did the rest. Now the healer moved to the front and managed to heal herself once but after that had the exact same faith as the Knight.

Final Thoughts

I would probably use the Scrapper again but with a level 2 summoner so I could utilize its Void ability. Another occasion would the Melee Mayhem -ruleset when melee monsters can attack from any position. That would also have to be a low mana battle because there are better options within the life splinter.

There you have it. Thank you for reading!
