This Is Why I Like The New Reward Update

Hi!

I haven't been reading your thoughts about the new reward update for a reason and that is I wanted to get a completely honest feeling through gameplay. So here are some of my thoughts so far.

My first daily focus was on Earth splinter. I must admit that it was quite a struggle, maybe because the new season had just started, and was up against opponents who fell from a higher league and were grinding their way back up.

After all, I managed to get three chests which is the exact amount I would get before the update since I was playing in Silver II. I had quite a mixed feeling about this because I had to work harder to get those 3 chests than usual.

Change of focus

Today the focus changed to Water which is without a doubt my favorite splinter. My water magic is lethal and Alric is like Johnny Depp's lawyer, dropping them like flies. Even though my capture rate was pretty low after yesterday's earth focus, I'm still getting about 2 DEC for a win.

Season Rewards

The new update will definitely reward active players. In two days I've gained 16 Season Chests while before the update it would have been 15 no matter how much I play. In my opinion, this is the real play to earn. No matter the daily focus, every win will count.

Daily Rewards

As I mentioned, I got 3 chests from the first daily focus but with water, it's already looking much brighter. By the time of writing this, I'm getting 7 chests and there is still about an hour and a half time left. As a matter of fact, I'm trying to get that 8th chest while writing this post!

Multiple Accounts

Before the new update, I liked to play Splinterlands battles also after I achieved my daily rewards but of course, there would come a point when there just wasn't any point doing that since your capture rate had fallen so much. Now it's more encouraging to play more because it's like money in the bank in form of season rewards.

I know. I feel for you guys operating with multiple accounts, it's gonna be a lot of work! Say goodbye to any other activities if you want to maximize the rewards. But for newbies, the update can be much more rewarding, and as I said, be more rewarding to those who actually play. This is the direction I'd like to see more blockchain games would take. So that the gap between "normal" games and those on the blockchain would grow smaller.

New Reward Cards

I haven't searched for any info about the reward cards because I like the feeling when a new one just pops up from the chest and then I can get to know it better. So far I have go two of those new ones and here they are:

Common ranged unit with a Scattershot ability.

Rare melee unit with a Scavenger ability. I'm kinda happy with this one, I had a feeling that I was missing some low mana monsters of Life splinter. Might be useful!

Conclusion

One other aspect I might want to add up is the end of daily focus. I can admit that I'm not gonna get that 8th daily chest within the time frame, but I can see some value in adding up the excitement when you have just barely beat the clock and gained enough points for the next chest.

All in all, in my opinion, the new update encourages people to play more, and isn't that what is it all about?
