A journey into completely Free-to-Play.
After seeing so many new player on Discord complaining that Splinterland is a Pay-to-Win and it's impossible for new players to start now.
I decided to make a fully Free-to-Play account and will grow this account without any extra investment.
I was made Bronze 3 and my season rewards was not too bad.
I feared a bunch of potions, but at least lady luck was on my side this time.
The plan for this account will be to try and grow without any external investment. I will be grinding where possible, till I can buy the cards I need and flipping for profit where possible. Then slowly grow SPS and DEC in the process.

I play without a spellbook, for fun, and practice. I know a friend of mine who does not own any cards, and he managed to “win” over $70 in DEC and Card rewards. If you ask me, that's quite fantastic, considering they only paid 10 bucks for the spellbook.
you should get a spellbook asap, at least you can earn DEC and season rewards. Plus daily quests. It's a no brainer.
I'm aware that one could be super lucky with one chest. I will save up some HBD and buy a book when I can, not sure if I will have enough time for quests and all that. It doesn't hurt to try, I think.
I have a main account that I play on mostly, just decided to make an alt account to proof that it's still possible to start playing now and can still prosper.
Most new players complain on discord about because they paid 10$ and think in 2 weeks time they can retire.
Maybe if this alt account becomes successful after a year or two then I can give it to my younger brother so he don't have to suffer through the growin phase of the account.
