Splinterlands Weekly Recap | Feb 11 2024

Here is the @splinterlands Weekly Recap for the week of Feb 5 to Feb 11. This is not an official recap, but rather just a smattering of the stuff I felt was important to highlight for the week :)

⚒️ The regular tech update came out, introducing a new ruleset (Maneuvers, which gives all cards reach - also known as "Melee Mayhem lite" or "Meh-lee Mayhem😑). I for one would've loved something a bit different which could've added new fun mechanics to the game, such as causing melee cards to target the second unit or a "scatter-melee" where melee cards have scattershot. The update also included small land fixes, a title and avatar for Soulkeep pack buyers, and support for pre-proposals in the official site (and there have been lots of those...).

🚋 The Rage Conflict is >60% complete. Given that the next conflict starts right after the current one ends, it should be reasonable to expect that we'll learn about the next airdrop card's stats in the coming week. In the tech update, a small improvement to wagons was also released, enabling you to combine a card that's already in a wagon (vs. unstaking->combining->staking). Here are the release notes.

🐳 The schedule for the Killer Whales TV show by @thehellolabs was released (as was Ep1). The gaming episode, which presumably is the one featuring @aggroed, is set for week 3 (Feb 22 release). More info on Hello TV. Excited to see the episode and how Aggy fared on this one!

⚔️ The great tournament debate raged on. The option in the lead at the moment is "C", however there is still much discussion on the topic. Here's the proposal. There's a thorough (and sometimes heated...) conversation happening on Discord in the "Great Tournament Debate" channel, so if you're feeling like getting a fistful of drama, head over there now.

🔥 The company burned some $SPS to renew its $DEC supply. Overall ~1.7M SPS has been burned in the last 7 days. This caused an increase in the DEC supply of ~28.8M over the last week. Burning SPS at these prices is great, because it means we burn MOAR!

🤖 Do you want to own a really, really cool Runi? Then go get yourself #250, on sale for 0.35 $ETH as I write this on OpenSea. The floor price is just a bit lower (clocking in at 0.29 ETH) but man the head on that one is awesome.

🪙 With #Bitcoin $BTC climbing to ~$48k, we saw renewed optimism and price discovery, but haven't yet seen much of an impact on $SPS or $HIVE. Perhaps we'll see some sparks in the next few weeks? We're rapidly approaching the Arcade Colony airdrop, have the Killer Whales TV show coming out soon, a new airdrop card getting revealed... There's certainly a lot going on, but we'll just have to wait and see!
