The first edition of this series focused on the Life Splinter. This one looks at the Death Splinter to evaluate potential synergies between Untamed and Rebellion.

Untamed x Rebellion Synergies - Death Splinter

No-attack cards

Shadowy Presence is the sole no-attack card for the Death Splinter in the Untamed set, and like all no-attack cards it has some good synergy with Rebellion simply due to the advent of Weapons Training. However, unlike Water, Earth, and Fire that have their own WT cards, Death doesn't (yet), so it only benefits from Moxian Rebel and the upcoming Rage airdrop card. With that said, at 1 mana and with extra utility via support abilities, it makes a good card to pair with any weapon trainer. Outside of that, I would say it gets a small synergy with melee cards like Chaos Jailer and Wailing Wraith and of course Mantaroth due to the Inspire.

Of course you could use dual-element summoners like Zeddica to bring Daarg into the fold, but once you're doing that there are TONS of good no-attack options in play. On the other hand, if you also bring along some Water melee cards like Captain Fellblade then you start getting even more value out of the Shadowy Presence. Not a bad play.

Melee cards

Next up, Untamed melee cards and their synergies w/ Rebellion.

Untamed has lots of melee cards in Death, but it's hard to see very obvious synergies here (at least for me). One that does stand out is Dark Ha'on, specifically because of Taunt. It's a much better card than Hellheim Demon at the same amount of mana, and you can stick Demise Archon Faust next to it for better protection via Lookout. You could then get some extra value by sticking Chaos Animator in the lineup for Amplify, though there are other options for that and it'd be mainly worthwhile in magic-heavy rulesets.

Since Untamed melee units have a lot of tanks, there isn't a ton of obvious value to Flank in my opinion.

Rebellion does add another Sneak card in Death (Fenmoor Haunt) so you could pair that (along with Chaos Jailer for added backline tormenting) with Maggots and the Undead Badger.

Another idea is Cursed Slimeball, which you can use in a stacked Redemption play alongside Chaos Animator (with either Thaddius or Astral Entity as the summoner).

Magic cards

Magic's next on the list.

The first card that stands out to me is Darkest Mage thanks to its Rust. Rebellion adds a lot of value to Armor, so Rust is even more desirable than before, and furthermore Rust can pair well with certain cards like Chaos Jailer (due to his Ambush).

Death Elemental, like Cursed Slimeball, can be part of Redemption abuse lineups, so there's a small synergy there with the Chaos Animator.

Ancient Lich's Resurrect is always nice, although he loses a lot of value due to the advent of Skok Duskblight who brings both Resurrect and Weapons Trainer.

The Fire splinter is notoriously devoid of healing and resurrects, so you could get some value out of Ancient Lich and Theorosa by using the Fire/Death dual-element summoner.

Ranged cards

Only 4 Ranged cards from the Untamed set to look at.

Grim Reaper gets some interesting value as he brings Oppress and Piercing, which could situationally be good against Grimbardun Smith. Frankly anything that has ANY value against Grim Smith is worth a mention.

Dark Astronomer also gets a teenie bit of value against Grim Smith with its Shatter ability.

That's pretty much it IMO.

Summoners

Finally let's look at the Untamed summoners and how they potentially would synergize with Rebellion.

Contessa doesn't get much utility, but given Avarisdeus has 2 attacks she may be somewhat interesting, particularly at lower leagues.

Owster doesn't bring a ton more than he already does. As we established before, Helheim Demon is inferior to Dark Ha'on, so there's not much value there (plus Dark Ha'on already has his own Magic Reflect). I suppose if you don't have Dark Ha'on you could use Owster w/ Helheim Demon. In no-melee rulesets he could be valuable alongside Chaos Animator with the Amplify. Overall, a good summoner but I don't see a huge amount of synergy with Rebellion.

Mimosa I think is generally interesting because of the amount of healing that happens in Rebellion. In particular she'll counter Triage-abuse (e.g. Water teams with Daarg and Angelic Mandarin, as well as all the Lily+Grim Smith teams. Right now, in a poison ruleset, you can put Lily and Grim Smith up front, give him a few tank heals and then have 1 or 2 cards in the back pile on Triage alongside Lily. Mimosa will put a stop to the backline healing. In fact, I think this counter puts Mimosa firmly in the "highly synergistic" (via a counter) category.

Conclusion

To me the strongest synergies for the Death Splinter in Untamed w/ Rebellion are Mimosa (for Triage counter) and Shadowy Presence (for WT). I'd give an honorable mention to Grim Reaper and Dark Astronomer for their attempts at getting at Grim Smith, and Dark Ha'on given he'll fill in for Helheim Demon on any Rebellion Death team.

What do you think? Did I forget any important synergies?

It's interesting to combine the different generations of cards. With every new generation, there are more combinations available and the game in general gets more tricky to play. Nice post!

Greetings,
What a long day!
I pray that you had a successful day
The combination of death cards on Pretoria battlefield has many advantages in regard to the spelling abilities.
The season ends in a few hours, have you reached your guild of choice?
I am targeting the Diamond League, but it will remain a complex mission.
