Untamed x Rebellion Synergies | Neutral Cards | Splinterlands

So far in this series I've looked at the Life, Death, Fire, Earth, Water, and Dragon splinters. Finally, it's time to look at Neutral cards and evaluate potential synergies between Untamed and Rebellion.

Untamed x Rebellion Synergies - Neutral cards

No-attack cards

The Untamed set has 2 no-attack cards, the famed Almo and his baby brother Onyx Sentinel.

Almo Cambio has awesome synergies with all Weapon Trainers. He's super beefy and resilient, and fast as hell. He's essential already pre-Rebellion, but becomes even more necessary with the addition of new Weapon Trainers. I think he'll pair especially well with Daarg and Rage.

Onyx sentinel may find a bit of utility, e.g. in no-magic rulesets or reverse speed. However at 5 mana, he's likely to be oftentimes a worse option than Grim Smith who's 6 mana. If Onyx were 4 mana he could be a little league contender, but such is not the case.

Melee cards

There are 7 Neutral melee cards to look at in Untamed.

The first one that stands out to me is War Chaang, who, with the double attack (melee and ranged) will benefit from Flank cards. He'll pair nicely with Croire, Torch Myrmidon, and Silverblade Fighter in particular. He also synergizes with Akane as a good option for Ambush due to his damage output. He's kind of a baby Vigilator.

Battering Ram is terrific in the new modern meta thanks to his speed and Shatter ability.

Chain Golem and Elven Defender don't make a ton of sense putting in the 2nd position as they are great tanks, so there isn't a flank synergy there.

Sand Worm could be a terrific card to use with Ambush, particularly if stacking with other Sneak cards and, in particular, Gobalano Soldier who has his own Ambush.

You could also look at using Battering Ram with Ambush to break your opponent's shield before coming in with another hit.

Parasitic Growth is an all-around great card but I don't see a specific synergy there with Rebellion.

Magic cards

There are 2 magic cards to look at.

Elven Mystic is an all-around great card for Silence-stacking in magic-only or magic-heavy rulesets, and Tortisian Chief one of the only healers in Neutral.

With Rebellion you'll be able to use new cards like the Puffer and Nalara to Silence-stack with Elven Mystic.

Tort Chief will synergize well with Grim Smith, giving him another level of support for Unkillable Grim/Lily teams.

Ranged cards

Tons of Ranged cards in the Untamed set, though we've covered War Chang already in the melee section so will skip this one.

Tower Griffin, which is already a very versatile card, gets a boost by providing Protect. This is great for Armored Strike cards like Mantaroth and Wailing Wraith.

Grenadier gets a small boost for his Oppress which could come in handy against Grim, though it'll need to be stacked with multiple other damage dealers given Grim's health. I would say he also could synergize with Akane as an Ambush unit given he's slow and squishy.

I don't really see any other obvious synergies here.

Summoners

There are no Neutral summoners in Untamed.

Conclusion

Neutral Untamed cards have a few strong synergies with Rebellion, specifically I would say Almo Cambio, Battering Ram, and to a slightly lesser extent War Chang may make a resurgence. Besides that we have a few other moderate synergies like Sand Worm, Tortisian Chief, and Grenadier.

What do you think? Did I forget any important synergies?*
