Splinterlands Guild Guides - What are Merits

So what are merits and why do I want these Merits

Merits are a non-transferable guild currency used to buy items in the Guild Store.

Everyone who participates in a Brawl will receive Merits when the Brawl ends as long as they have at least a level 1 store in the guild.

As Brawling is all about the group, every participant in a given guild will receive the same amount of Merits, regardless of win / loss / draw record. However, these amounts will differ from guild to guild.

With merits you can buy Gladius cards, These can be used in brawls and also importantly add to your overall card power so that could mean more airdrops/ less rentals and/or purchases needed for card power and for your brawls (Note the guild store needs to be level 2 to buy Gladius packs these come in 5 packs)

How do I know how much I will earn

Brawl Rewards pop-up estimates the amount of Merits you will receive under ideal circumstances:

Members will receive full Merits if their teams are submitted for more than 75% of their Fray battles. If less than 75% of your fights are submitted (i.e. more than 25% are flees), then the amount of Merits will be reduced in proportion to this.

If your opponent flees and you win, that counts for your Merit Reward. If there are no battles because no other guilds are interested, you still get full Merits as a reward for defending an empty Fray.

Let's look at some examples. Say your guild won 30 Crowns in a 2 Star Brawl and has a level 3 Store.

Then total Merits per guild member = (10 x 500 x 1.4) / 16 = 1312.5

So each of the guild members who fully participate (enter all teams) will receive 1313 Merits (rounded to the nearest whole number).

This chart shows how many Merits you would receive under different circumstances:
