The Mother of Dragons - Helios Matriarch Redesign

Hello and Welcome to a new Episode of my Splinterlands Fanart Series.

Today we will take a closer look at "Helios Matriarch"

The Lore:

"At five-hundred and ninety-three years old, Rosa Phireth was the youngest matriarch selected by the other cardinals to head the Church of Helios. Now, almost a century later, she has greatly increased the church’s influence within the Gloridax Empire and developed a close friendship and bond with the Dragonach Shogun, head of the empire’s mighty Dragonsguard."

The Card:

This Rare Dragon Summoner from the Soulbound reward pool gives to all Monster in your Battle line +1 Speed and allow you the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle.

The Art Style:

This is the Dragon Mother herself. A truly amazing character design. Ever her face looks somehow reptilian to me and i love how detailed the original art is.

Because of this is, i want to stay close to the original in my Fanart.

Here is my interpretation of the "Helios Matriarch"

Lets take a look at the Illustration Process:

I tried a different art style this time with a bit more of a painting approach. It was a a little bit messy but all o all my drawing steps always looks the same.

The first sketch i do is always very rough. It is only a guideline for me what shape and proportions my illustration will have.

In the second step i work on a clean sketch with some more details. This two steps makes it easy to finish a clean and detailed lineart.

Now it's time for adding the colour pallet, than shadows and at last step the very important highlights and effects.

•All painting work was done on Ipad with Procreate.
•Video editing done with Luma Fusion
