SGS Splinterlands : Earnings and Opportunities Update

(Edited)

I wasn’t going to write about the SGS Splinterlands Cards for a couple of months but there has been a couple of favorable developments that are probably worth letting people know about. The Archmage Bot has been running smoothly and the @ssg-community account has been performing similarly to last season, hitting a Rating High of 2403 in Wild Ranked. It earned Rewards of 93 Standard Cards plus 3 Gold Foils, 140 Potions, 6340 Merits and 159 SPS.

Those rewards are solid and definitely comparable to the previous season so that's nothing new. However, the Merits have enabled the account to start picking up some Gladius Packs which segues nicely into the favorable developments part of this post. I was able to secure a FREE Guild Membership for the account by pitching it as a backup player should the guild fall short of players in any Brawls. This Guild Membership alone is worth an extra +9% for the Reward Points earned by @ssg-community for each battle won and that’s a decent boost that would be silly to pass up now that the SGS cards are being botted with a decent Win Rate.

As for being a backup player for the Guild, it’s just had its first call-up to fill in for the upcoming Tier 3 Brawl in Fray #4. I’ve been playing Splinterlands semi-regularly myself and I’m competing in the same Brawl so I’m happy to play a few extra games manually with the account. It benefits the Guild I play for, plus it’s another extra earner for @ssg-community as there will be Additional SPS and Merits awarded for the Brawls participation. I’m not sure how competitive the SGS Cards are going to be in Tier 3, Fray #4 but Win, Lose or Draw it’s going to pay something as the rest of the guild will carry it.

Anyways, in the interests of full disclosure I thought it was worth mentioning these developments. I don’t expect that the @ssg-community account will be playing Brawls regularly but for now I think the benefits of holding a backup position in a Guild works for SGS and it’s not too much extra effort to fulfil those backup responsibilities when there is an occasional call-up. If it turns into a regular manual playing requirement then we can review things and weigh up the Pros and Cons of the Guild involvement. Right now I am only really seeing Pros.

Dang, that is pretty good. I am lucky to pull in 50 chests in my season rewards. I rent out a large portion of my cards though. It's nice to see that has been earning a bit more than it was for a while there. I'm still just waiting for land play like everyone else!

That extra nine percent adds up quickly! That's a great guild to have a reserve spot in. Those gladius cards will become very useful with these new soul bound summoners. I hope you pull a Quora out of one of those packs, she is awesome!
