Splinterlands Land : Upgrading Workers

For a few weeks now I have been Building a Supply Chain in Splinterlands with the new Land Functionality and using the published White Papers as a guide for developing my strategy. I’ve been using a Dollar-Cost-Averaging process to invest a bit each week while keeping an eye on how the markets are fluctuating (or not).

The first thing I’ve noticed is that the Land Prices seem to be fairly stable. At the bottom end Common Land is still going for about $40 each, however the Magical and Occupied Lands seem to be slowly creeping higher. Magicals can be picked up at $130 today but the market is getting a bit thin and these lands are slowly being bought up. The Occupied Lands are already up to about $400 so I’m pretty happy to have got mine when I did.

On the flip side the Grain Price is dropping consistently. I kind of expected there to be a bit of a glut of Grain before the Land 2.0 Functionality is released. I’m seeing offers of Grain as low as 0.036 per DEC which looks pretty cheap to me. Something is likely to give here as Grain and Land appear to be going in opposite directions but I think they should be correlated. It is yet to be seen whether Grain will drag Land down but maybe it’s the reason why the Common plots are being held down while the more premium plots appreciate…?

My own strategy is evolving. I’m still planning to produce Magic Food and now have both Earth and Life Magical plots. I am focusing on upgrading my workers for those 2 Splinters so that I can feed my own production line with boosts. I’m buying a few BCX off the market each week and then pulling existing Workers offline to upgrade them and move them around. I’m trying to optimize by putting my Beta Cards on my premium plots and my Chaos Cards on the common plots. It’s a little annoying to deal with a 3-day Cooldown each time I move a Worker around but I’m getting the hang of managing the process of Upgrading my Workers in a semi-optimal way with minimal downtime.

All up I think that investing gradually is working for me because it’s also giving me time to review and evolve my strategy as I go while also studying the markets and picking up a few bargains opportunistically if I spot them. How about you? Are you working on your Splinterlands Land? Are you happy with how it’s going?

Do you have an idea if someone can only buy land to invest and make profit without playing the game itself?

Sounds like a really good strategy. I am just kind of crossing my fingers and taking my chances at this point. I shifted a lot of stuff around and it totally killed my rental income.

Cheers. I think the rental market has been turned on its head a bit anyways. A lot of this stuff is experimenting with trial and error. Hope you find something that works.
