It's certainly something to be informed about, although it MIGHT be worth it if you're just buying a few packs.
I think there's possibly another trap at the top end - buying vouchers to try and get up to 1000 - unless you have hundreds of thousands of SPS staked I think you're better off maybe just buying what you can with your own vouchers and selling any surplus sps now while its high and hope to use the proceeds to buy those early drop cards.
So many options. But generally buying on the secondary market is a terrible idea!
Looks like the prices on Hiveengine are dropping after this video :) And yes I wouldn't touch a voucher above $4 or a pack above $2 on the secondary.
