Hi there again Splinter-friends and HIVEees. Hope everything is still well to you where ever you are. This blog is intended to share some of my battles in Frontier Rank format in Splinterlands.

With how the game developed right now, battles and features are not just limited to simply make a deck, battle and repeat. Splinterlands also have features that can be tested by new guys and can start their asset accumulation with minimal financing or if they want. Go big time in an instant. Frontier battle format of Splinterlands have the minimum or can be considered almost zero start up capacity as long you have your splinterbook then start the campaign mode to get your free cards. What you really have to do is start playing it.

Anyways, I am going to share one of battles in gold league of Frontier Battle Format.

Shades of Gray

Only Neutral Units maybe used.

Shades of Gray is one of the ruleset that will limit archons potential domination in the battle. It is basically that this ruleset only allowed Neutral Monster units can be used. That is a bit hard to form a team specially if you have limited to no card collection or rented with Neutral splinters. So how are you playing this in Frontier Rank Battle? This clearly limit your potential team construction with this ruleset present in the battle. Your favorite meta will be ousted. But for sure you need to send your team in the battle right. This is where I will share my experience for this type of rule in the Frontier.

Battle Sample on Shades of Gray on Frontier Rank

In this battle, I am currently in the Gold League of Frontier Rank. Maintaining here in this rank should possess a good set of cards probably rank 3 and above for the archons and followed by the units. Since I maxed my cards that I think are suited to be good enough to battle in frontier, I am maintaining gold league in the ranked battle for the time being. While still waiting for the book2 or whatever frontier updates, I am still minting those free resources and trying my luck to those rare foils every week. You should really not gonna missed this for rare foils still got their nice market prices. Continuing with the battle. I am playing the Shades of Gray Ruleset with 42 Mana Capacity. I am playing this in the Earth splinters boost additional HP archons. Why I chose this one to be my Archon? Aurelia of Earth splinters summoner ability is better to other available archons right now, in my opinion of course, where in its true opponent, the Death splinter is not available for use. Yes, If ever Shades of Gray is here and Earth and Death splinters are both present for use, I am having trouble in making desition to which one i should play. Unless they put additional rule aside from shades of gray.
And I am placing first the card that got the taunt ability New Beluroc Aegis in front followed by Lunaki Howler. Although this card does not possess a great damage, I still see it as an important card for it got a balance stats. Vengeful Monk, Kanaaq Miner and A'lan the Musketeer will be my main offense for this battle.

Facing the Water Splinter boost of my opponents team, Right in this round 1, My tank already suffered a good amount of damages on its mages that were boosted. Take note that magic damages are hard to counter in normal situation because magic damages passess thru the armor of the monster units.

Round 5 is where I already see the possible victory because the offense of my opponent is not enough to cut all my monster units HP. Here is the good thing about playing the Frontier battle rank, since it got a limited amount of card at the moment, not that many as the same from modern and wild rank, battles cannot always been dominated and won with a little margin which it make more exciting.

  • Well, Shades of Gray is one of the ruleset that I used to form team with balance as much as possible. I believed that Attacks and Survivability should both exist in this type ruleset to gain the upper hand.
