splinterlands battle challenge: The fierce desert dragon

Hello Splinter nerds

All the 14 special airdrop characters for the chaos legion has been unlocked.... The last one was Lily shieldpaw and i would be making a post about this summoner soon to reveal if it is as good as the other legendary summoners or not up to par.....

This week splinterlands battle challenge is about dragons and as we all know the dragons that on splinterlands the dragon splinter have lot of powerful monsters and summoners....

While playing, i was all eyes out for a nice battle that is worth sharing and after playing for sometime, Desert dragon presented me an amazing battle!

This dragon is one of the best when it comes to reverse rule because it has a low speed but the speed alone doesn't define it....

Desert dragon possess some amazing stats that makes it brutal in battle and there is a certain rule that can make him utilize that stats to the maximum, we call the rule.. stampede

: The trample ability allows it to carry out an attack on the second monster if it was successful in killing the first monster on the opponent team....

: The piercing allows it to penetrate the opponent monsters armor and health as long as its power attack is enough to clear the armor and hit the health....

: This ability is a threat to melee attackers because it gives him chance to hit back if attacked by any melee monsters....

: Lastly it was designed to terminate giant monsters with 10 mana and above as it does double damage when it hit them....

I was given the earthquake, reverse speed and melee mayhem rule set which means all non-flying monsters take two melee damage after every round, monsters with the lowest speed attack first and melee monsters can attack from any position...

Three splinters were made available, which were the fire, death and dragons, i used the brighton bloom that possess the flying stats and i was hoping the opponent won't use yodin zaku because that could change the game....

Luckily for me, he didn't use yodin but he came with the fire splinter using Tarsa to summon them...

I realized i have a higher chance of winning the battle just from seeing the line up but i was still wary of his doctor blight as it could change the whole game if misses favored him....

Judging from his line up, he came with many slow melee attackers which he would have regretted immediately he saw my desert dragon....

CHAOS AGENT

This monster was my first monster and i placed it as the tank because monsters have higher chance of missing it in battle, so its purpose is to delay the opponent attackers and even though it didn't last long in battle, the opponent doctor blight missed his attack on him....

DESERT DRAGON

This monster is the Mvp of the battle, he single handedly took down 3 out of the opponent monsters, he terminated 2 using the trample ability and the 3 monster died from his retaliation... Unfortunately he didn't make it to the end of the battle but he did great by clearing the path for his team to win the battle....

ANT MINERS

The ant miner is well known for its scavenger ability, anytime a monster died either on their team or opponent team, the ant miner health increase by 1, i placed it right after the desert dragon knowing that it would have accumulate more health before the demise of the dragon and it was just as i had expected and with his help the opponent could not reach my rear monsters because it has more health which makes it hard for the opponent to terminate it easily...

GRENADIER

After using a flying summoner, i needed a monster that can remove flying from the opponent just incase he also use the same summoner and that was what bred the use of grenadier because it has the snare ability to remove the flying from all monsters except those with the immunity ability... His blast also allows it to transfer the snare attack to the immediate rear monster from the one he attacked...

The opponent didn't use any flying monster so the snare ability was kind of useless but his blast did a great job in the battle...

LAVA SPIDER

The spider is another monster i use because i believed the opponent would atleast come with two or more flying monsters but he disappointed me but still good as it also possess the poison ability which was useful in the battle...

SCORCH FIEND

The last but not the least monster on my team, this monster possess the demoralize ability that helps to reduce the opponent melee attack by 1, which is just what i needed in the battle since all melee can attack from any position and to crown it all, it cost no mana so it is a free use monster!

The opponent line up was good but he did a mistake not using brighten bloom summoner or zaku, that could have give him a higher chance of victory in the battle....
