This week's Splinterlands battle mage secret is Back to Basics a rule set in which all monsters lose all their abilities but this rule does not affect summoners so they retain their stats.

The battle I am about to share is 54 mana cap enough to take in big mana monsters, it was also a 3 combo ruleset in which back to basics was among.

The other two rules were:

Wands Out: Only magic monsters may be used in battle.

Born Again: All monsters will be born again once when they are eliminated.

4 splinters were available[ water, life, death, and dragon] to use in the battle, the opponent chose to use the Sthispa dragon summoner with the phase ability to summon the water splinter monsters while I used Grandmaster Rather life splinter summoner because of its +1 armor and Void armor it gives to the monsters.

  • The +1 armor will give all my monsters a save from the opponent's first hit on them as it will only destroy the armor on them.

  • The void armor makes it impossible for the opponent to hit their health without breaking the armor first.

My Formation

Iziar

The first step I took in this battle was protecting my monsters with the summoner I use which I already explained above, Iziar was my tank because it had a high health base that could withstand a lot of attacks from the opponent and it survived the first round as it received hit from the opponent 6 monsters, it was eliminated in the second round by Djinn Oshannus

Time meddler

The opponent was short of one monster in 2nd round, of course, I eliminated it after Iziar was killed, time meddler was my second monster and it also has high health with the capacity to withstand a lot of attacks from the opponent, the opponent lost another monster in the second round, making it just 4 monsters left on its team and I had 5, By the time it got to round 4, the opponent had 3 monsters left, time meddler was reborn with an armor of 6 which the enemy had to break before he could defeat it.

Harbinger of Chaos

This monster has an immunity ability but it does not matter because of the back-to-basics rule set that takes away all monster's abilities, this was my 3rd monster and it also had high health of 10 bases, it was not until round 5 that it became the tank after time meddler was defeated and it remains undefeated till the end of the battle.

Magi of Chaos & Djinn Renova

)

The magi and djinn have a high magic attack and they are the best option available in terms of health and magic power, they did tremendously well in the battle and made it possible to win the battle though they were lucky enough not to receive any hit from the opponent monster's.

Anachron Bolter

This monster is one of my favorite rebellion cards and that is because of its two attack powers [range and magic] and its outstanding abilities [repair and headwinds], it did great in this battle too even though her magic was just 1 but the range power complemented it.

The opponent monsters did great but I think the big difference and game changer for me was the summoner that I used.

Reading your actions and the opponent monster's actions sounds like a movie to me...
