Splinterlands battlemage secrets: Holy protection with a touch of Lorkus

This week's Splinterlands battle mage secret is Holy Protection

It is a ruleset in which all the monsters in either team gain a divine shield ability that reduces the first attack on them to zero.

I was given 2 other rules which are:

Reverse Speed: This is the ruleset that changes the quote that Splinterlands is about speed because it gives monsters with low speed an advantage allowing them to attack first.

Armored up: All monsters have +2 armor in addition to their normal armor stat, I love to use magic monsters in this kind of ruleset because they are not affected by armor unless the opponent uses a summoner that makes it impossible for the magic to penetrate the armor.

There were only 3 splinters available and the best summoner I think fit in this ruleset was the newly released summoner Lorkus

Lorkus is a dual splinter summoner, he can be used to summon fire and death monsters and it also has dual abilities that can be added to only two monsters, the first dual abilities are:

Affliction and Life Leach: I use this often especially because of the leach, It helps to increase my monster's health hence giving more advantage in battles and the affliction works great against healing monsters...

Trample & Fury: These abilities are nice too but I often don't see a use for them and the first one is more needed but sometimes when I see a good opportunity arise for me to use this, I go for it.

Honestly, Lorkus is one of the best summoners in modern right now, it also has two stats, it gives +1 magic and melee to monsters summoned by him... Just imagine not having this monster.

It was a 44 mana cap battle with the rules above, guess what the opponent used.

The opponent used Possibilus the Wise to summon some powerful melee monsters, his plan was to trample on my monsters but that didn't work out for him because I had a strong tank and he did not defend against my magic.

My formation

Grimbardun Smith

Grimbardun was the best tank I could think of against the opponent's range, magic, or melee attackers, it has a shield and void to reduce their damages, I only hope the opponent won't use Venka with the oppress ability and the chance of using it is like 10% since it is a reverse rule set and Venka is a high-speed monster, the opponent melee attackers have a tough time taking down Smith as it keeps gaining armor with his repair ability and they were not given a chance to attack much because my magic monsters eliminated them fast.

Skok DuskBlight & Will o Wisp

Skok DuskBlight was the monster with the weapon training ability I used which added +3 magic power to Will o wisp and it also has a resurrect ability which was not triggered because none of my monsters died in the battle.

Djinn Inferni, Cabalist & Life Sapper

Djinn was the monster I gave the stat from Lorkus, he possesses the leach and affliction and the leach saved him from the opponent monsters with the opportunity ability as he was their target.

Cabalist has the demoralize ability which reduces the opponent's melee power and he defeats the opponent Mantaroth with his `giant killer`` ability.

Life sapper almost lost its life too as it was the last monster in my team and the opponent used a sneaky monster with a poison ability which almost killed him but the leach ability saved him.

It was a flawless victory as the opponent was not able to take down any of my monsters, my magic was too strong!
