Hello splinter nerds!

This week splinterlands battle challenge is about the rule set : Back to Basics

It is a rule set in which all the monsters lose their abilities but this does not affect the summoners... All summoners still have their stats and this is what players consider before selecting a splinter to use in battle....

Most time players go for summoners like

• yodin zaku: for his blast stats...

• Lir deep swimmer: To counter yodin zaku or range power monsters...

• Owster rotwell: Very useful when back to basic ruleset is accompanied with only magic can be used rule set, it is highly predictable the opponent is coming with magic but there are other summoners that are designed to beat or counter owster, the likes of immortalis with the void ability and sometimes players prefer using mimosa night shade to owster except it is a little league battle

The point of this is that no matter how strong a summoner is, they have weakness, lir is the weakness of yodin zaku....

This is why most time i am always reluctant to use yodin zaku in back to basic rule because if the opponent comes with lir deep swimmer and monsters with long health, i would lose the battle even before it started...

In this battle, all the splinters were available except the life splinter, i and the opponent had many options to choose from, i decided to go for yodin zaku even though that is a big risk if the opponent had come with lir but luckily he came with the earth splinter using the Obsidian that give +1 magic...

My line up

• Serpent of the flame: This monster has a high speed and if it doesn't attack first, it is certain he will be among the top 4 attackers and he will definitely attack before it dies plus its armor is very useful in taking some hit before they get to its health unfortunately the opponent use all magic....

• Peaceful giant: Line up is not complete without the presence of this card in a back to basic rule because of his long health... Very helpful as it takes long to be able to defeat it which gives my attackers time to cause havoc on the opponent monsters...

• Centaur: I love this monster for its speed..

• Scavo firebolt: This monster have a high range power and i need to crush the opponent as fast as possible...

• Blood maker: This is another monster with speed i use and it also has a high range power...

• Spark pixies: This is one of the fastest range attack monster on splinterlands..

My monsters were faster than the opponent own, which gives me advantage over him, he was able to take down one of my monster or else it would have been a flawless victory..
