Splinterlands — Season Recap and Social Media Challenge

Not the most lucrative season, but fun was had!!!

Always a Good Time

From a strictly dollar value viewpoint this season was not a great success. Lucky for me Splinterlands is not just an investment vehicle, but a game I enjoy playing and this season was one of my favorites.

SPS rewards were added to Brawls, which is great from a financial perspective, but even more exciting is it has seemed to grab more interest in Brawls. There seems to be more participants and tough battles all around.

This season also featured three separate PKM tournaments, offering more ways to play and potentially earn. I'm still not a very good tournament player, but I am enjoying throwing my hat in the ring and learning as I go.

Interesting Battle Last Season

I love when Ever Hungry becomes a solid play. It is strongest in Weak Magic and Equalizer rulesets. This battle offered both rulesets and it became a solid tank. The Flying ability also helped with a few key misses. Adding in Life Leech with Sapper and Bonesmith and my opponent didn't stand a chance.

Rewards

Not the most exciting rewards, but I was fortunate to battle back into Gold four days into the season and actually finished with my highest rating ever, 2885. Enough to advance to Diamond if I had chosen to. I opted not to rent the required CP to advance to Diamond, but it was a great feeling to know I could have if I wanted to 🎉 I'm focusing on being more competitive at the Modern Gold level for dailies and the Silver Chaos fray for Brawls. I'm getting closer to maxing out my Chaos deck for Silver and will look at how I want to attack the dailies once I complete that collection.

Onto the actual season rewards. I was a bit disappointed the last couple of days and season end didn't include any Chaos packs, but overall, I was happy with how the season played out. I gained an additional 46 cards, two of them common GF, 98 SPS and just over 1000 Merits. The season end Merit reward put me over 2000 and I bought a Gladius pack. Nothing amazing in the pack, but the Alva and Gobson gave me five of each and I now have my first level 2 Gladius cards 🎉🎉🎉

Looks like another 15-day season coming up so I can hopefully make my way back to gold quickly and see if I can match, or beat, my rating from last season. I haven't looked at upcoming tournaments, but my focus the next 15 days is going to be fighting hard in the Brawls, learning more strategies and synergies and seeing what I can do to level up Obsidian to level four.
