Dragons

Dragon is a tough splinter for me. I enjoy the cards, but I don't own many of them, meaning I have to rent to be competitive. There are some strong cards in Dragon, not to mention you can also choose another splinter to pair with the strong cards, and the neutral cards are of course available as well.

Summoners

Since I do not own a copy of any Dragon summoners I typically have the below three options to choose from. Drake of Arnak is a current free to play summoner. With the new rewards system giving a huge penalty to using free to play summoners this option is not a huge draw for me. This leaves Brighton Bloom and Quix the Devious as my available options.

F2P, but with a huge penalty for using this option I don't often go this route.	I typically like to rent a copy of Brighton Bloom for Earthquake matches.	A Legendary summoner that can summon level two commons at level one.

Key Players

Dragon splinter is tougher to narrow down the key cards as it can vary depending on the accompanying splinter you choose to pair with it for the particular battle. That being said the Dragon splinter has some strong cards of its own.

Card	Synergy
	If I had only one Dragon card that I could keep this is it! The mana cost is high, but this card alone can win a match. The high armor makes it a great tank and the Thorns only increases the deadliness. Paired with a summoner that can summon a level two Epic, a third melee damage is added.
	Reach and double strike, what a combination. Being able to attack twice, tucked in behind a tank is a strong ability.
	As one of the new reward cards I am still getting a feel for the best uses, but double strike, with the sneak ability, is too good of a combination to not give it a fair shake
	The 14 mana cost makes this tough to squeeze into some battles, but three magic damage, ten health and four armor is massive.

The Battle

I could tell from the start up screen that my opponent favored Yodin. Yodin gives a plus one buff to health and range attacks, in addition to adding blast to each attack. Yodin is a tough card to conquer so I went in with the mindset of trying to negate his strengths as much as possible.

1️⃣ Range Attack - Quix's debuff would minimize the range buff.

2️⃣ Blast - Knowing I would be taking a lot of blast damage I knew I needed a secondary tank with high armor, this is where Carnage Titan came into play.

3️⃣ Health - I also knew to beat Yodin I would need some hard hitting cards to decrease my opponents higher health, as well as a way to increase my own cards health.

I choose Earth to pair with Dragon to help shore up my health needs. I could place Grund up front and Wood Nymph and Goblin Psychic near the back. Grund not onhy offer some heavy hitting, but also boasts ten health. Wood Nymph and Goblin both offer Tank Heal to keep Grund rolling as long as possible.

How did it go?

Well, according to Splintertools I had a 100% chance of victory. That is no small feat going up against Yodin. Tank Heal and the double Strike abilities were the MVP. I did not have high hoped going up against Yodin, but thanks to my opponent choosing all ranged attackers, Quix's debuff was a major game changer.
