Splinterlands share your battle challenge — Nerissa Tridawn

One of My Current Favorite Cards

I enjoy playing the Water splinter. I was initially drawn to the splinter for the heavy hitters Diemonshark, Flying Squid and Deeplurker. As I became more comfortable with the splinter and started to favor it over others, I found myself susceptible to magic attacks. The high armor thanks to Kelya's buff is nice, but magic slips right under even the highest armor.

I started to play different lineups and included Djinn Oshannus for some magic attack of my own, but also the Void ability to absorb some of what was doing me the most damage. With higher mana games becoming more of the norm these days, I branched out and started looking at higher mana cards to pair with my strategies. This is where Nerissa came to my attention. The high nine mana cost seems steep, but her high health and massive three magic damage are well worth the price.

...Nerissa was born and raised by the ocean, and could swim before she could walk. She always felt the sea called to her. And within her it stirred a deep magic. An ancient mana of tides and waves. Nerissa answered the call, and travels between the continents of the Splinterlands....*

Versus a similar Lineup

This was an interesting battle as both my opponent and myself selected Kelya. We both also went with Oshannus, Deeplurker and Diemonshark. The extra damage from Nerissa was more than enough of a difference maker to overcome Disintegrator's debuff and Mermaid's tank heal.

Lower Mana Battle

Even in this battle, where I choose to use nearly half the available mana on Nerissa, the choice paid off. The high magic damage and high health were more than a match for my opponent.

Synergies

Kelya — The addition of armor to an already high health means Nerissa will be around for several rounds to fire off her three damage
Djinn Oshannus — Djinn helps strengthen a weak point of the Water splinter by being able to absorb some magic attacks. This will leave Nerissa alive longer to deal her high damage.
Diemonshark — High armor and health allows Nerissa to hide longer
Legionnaire Alver — If you are worried about the threat of a heavy dose of magic coming your way, Alver's Void Armor will help and will stand up longer than Diemonshark
Flying Squid — A nice synergy with Nerissa's magic attack is the Reach ability allowing for a second melee attack from the second spot. It also has a good amount of health to serve as a secondary tank for further frontline protection.
Deeplurker — A good amount of melee damage as well as the Opportunity ability which can help take care of Sneak, Opportunity or Snipe opponents that may be targeting Nerissa.
Serpent of Eld — Decent melee damage and armor, but it is the Dodge ability that hopefully gains an extra round or two of safety in the back line.
Chaos Agent — At level two this is a low mana option for a similar result to Serpent of Eld without the melee attack up front. For 14 mana Kelya, Chaos Agent and Nerissa is not a bad lineup. If you can add a Fiend or Chicken in there it could do some serious damage.
Spirit Hoarder — Nerissa's high health make her a serious threat as a rear tank. Add in Triage from Spirit Hoarder and she will stand up a long time.
Torrent Fiend — Okay, so a zero mana card is a great synergy with any card, but due to Nerissa's high mana cost you may find yourself up against a tight mana count more often.

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem
