Splinterlands - Social Media Challenge

I love all the different strategies and combinations of cards that can be played in Splinterlands. I tend to choose bug bruising teams that can deal a ton of damage before the opposing team can react. Low mana matches make this a difficult strategy to use, so I wanted to share a recent battle in which I went with only one monster that could deal any damage at all.

The Battle

The Strategy
1st Position - Djinn Chwala
- Thorns
- Nine Health
- Five Armor
- Two Melee Damage
- Strategy - Over half the available mana for the match, but a large nine health, five armor and the ability to deal damage with thorns makes Djinn a formidable tank. If I can only go into battle with one monster, this is a solid choice
2nd - Scavo Hireling
- Repair
- One Health
- Strategy - I don't have much mana left after choosing a large tank. Instead of trying to find a three mana monster that will do little damage, I choose to use Scavo to keep Djinn going as long as possible. Djinn's base five armor, plus the additional +1 armor from the summoner Drake of Arnak will be tough to crack with it being repaired each round
3rd - Furious Chicken
- Zero Mana
- One Health
- Strategy - No mana left to use but the chicken can be squeezed in as long as there is still a spot available. I choose to place the chicken in the back in case my opponent used a sneak or opportunity monster. The idea would be to give Scavo an extra layer of defense

The Result
The chicken ended up not being involved in the battle at all, but it didn't cost anything to place her in the back as insurance. Thorns and Repair were the stars of the show. Djinn missed the Serpent of Eld three times and would have been destroyed had thorns not slowly drained him of life.
Scavo saved Djinn by allowing three extra hits to take place without further damage. I know how frustrating it can be on the opposing side to see monsters continually healed or repaired and was please to be on winning end of the exchange.
