Splinterlands Social Media Challenge — Brawl Report

I took a personal beating last Brawl with a terrible 0—7 performance. My sole goal this Brawl was to put up at least one win 😌 I upgraded Kelya to level five and upgraded a handful of Fire and Water cards to make myself more competitive, did it work????

Tarsa v Obsidian

I don't like my odds of Tarsa versus Obsidian, especially when the Obsidian out levels my Tarsa. This time I thought I had a good strategy to absorb some magic damage while still being able to hit hard....

CARD	WHY DID THEY CHOOSE IT?
	One of the cards I recently upgraded for the extra melee attack. The Void armor up front can hopefully slow magic attackers.
	Looking to slow down the opponent with Demoralize but also hopefully allow Trample to activate and do some extra damage.
	I love being able to use Grum from the middle of the pack.
	A nice strong card for five mana. The Dodge can be a backup in case a lot of melee comes my way.
	Like Grum, like being able to use Forgotten One from the middle of the pack.
	One of my favorite reward cards. Stun, four ranged attack with close range and solid armor.

Round 1 — Alvar's Void Armor did what I needed it to and stood up to a round of magic attacks, allowing me to inflict a sizable amount of damage to Slipspawn. No cards fell this round.

Round 2 — Alvar falls with the first shot, but he did a great job holding up to some sizable attacks. Slipspawn falls about half way through the round and I am able to take our Spirit Hoarder and do significant damage to Sandworm. Disintegrator unfortunately falls quickly and Tenyii is taking a lot of damage, but at the end of the round we both have four cards left and I hold a significant health advantage!

Round 3 — Tenyii falls with the first shot of the round and Lava Launcher is close behind. Not a great start to the round for me. I take out Sandworm but have a huge miss on Nectar Queen that is worrying. I still have a slight health advantage at the end of the round, but only two cards to my opponents three.

Round 4 — Forgotten One's miss really worries me, but thankfully Grum is able to connect this time and not only takes out Nectar Queen, but also activates Bloodlust!

Round 5 — My opponents camouflage ability actually works to my favor as I have more shots at the high speed Regal. Grum misses, but Forgotten one hits before falling to Djinn's magic attack.

Round 6 — Another miss from Grum. One more miss and I'm done!

Round 7 — Well, I missed again and couldn't finish off my opponent 😔

I was happy with my strategy of going in with Alvar as a tank to slow the magic attacks, but ultimately I lost because I couldn't connect. I needed that extra boost of speed or some slow to decrease my opponent's ability to Dodge.

😔 😔 2—5. Normally I wouldn't be excited with this record, but I'll take it! 😔 😔

It feels good to have contributed something to the point total this time around! 135 points overall, the Calzones are stepping it up. As we continue to grow it is exciting to see us creeping up the leaderboard and reaping some extra rewards for our efforts.

This battle is a great example of how I feel I am competing well at the gold level in Brawls, but just need a touch more upgrading or RNG luck to get over the hump. I'll keep at it and keep learning and improving my collection.
