Splinterlands - Social Media Challenge - The Great Burning

The great burning is not just for Whales!

🎉 🎉 Fifth Year Anniversary Event 🎉 🎉


Splinterlands is turning five! I've only been playing about a year and a half, but the good news is that anyone can join the party and have a chance for great prizes. The good news is that this celebration isn't only for the richest players as I originally thought was the case. You can read all of the details here, or read on and I will give you my interpretation.

📇 Details 📇

There are actually three parts to the anniversary giveaways. All three parts start by burning DEC or DEC-B.

A) Be one of the top 200 burners during he event and win yourself a shiny new title. The top ten win escalating plots of land with the highest burner taking home an entire tract.

This is where I originally stopped at thought the giveaways would only be available to the richest few, but I had to read on and see that there was more to the party!

B) For every 10K points earned during the burn event you will gain one entry into a pool for the below prizes.

This is great, as I know I will not be able to compete with the whales, but I will still be able to take part in the celebration and have a chance to win some pries.

But wait there is one more piece to this puzzle

C) All DEC or DEC-B burned during the event will be converted to Guild Power. Even if you are not currently in a guild, Guild Power is yours to keep and can be used if you ever do join a guild. If you are currently in a guild the Power will be ready for you when the current system of using DEC to upgrade buildings changes to GP.

So if you are like me and regularly contribute to your guild anyway, this is a free entry to the party with great guild benefits down the road 🎉

Fine Print


So how do you earn points? Well by burning DEC or DEC-B, but there is some fine print. The earlier you burn (The event is open for 30 days from May30th - June 29th) the more points you gain. At the start of the event each DEC burned awards three points. So burn 3,334 DEC on day one and you will earn 10K points that will also award you 10K GP. The longer you wait the lower the points you will gain per DEC, with the last day of the event awarding 1 point per DEC burned. So get in early if you want to take part!
