Thursday Silly Splinterlands Tip
A quick post to help you find Splinterlands card images for cards with "odd" names
The Issue
You are likely aware of THIS post detailing how to find Splinterlands card images. (If not, you're welcome 😀) This is a great resource, however there was one detail that kept throwing me for a loop until a few days ago. How to find cards with small words such as 'of' or 'the' in the name.
Side note, I hate the Internet sometimes. I looked to the web to find a better name than "small words" and ended up on a 30+ minute deep dive into the inner workings of the English language. I'm going to stick with small words and hope no one gets offended 🤣
Example
Maybe it was just me, but I am going to guess that there is at least one more person out there that has had this issue. I could not for the life of me figure out what the trick was and I stumbled upon it quite by accident. Sometimes persistence pays off.
Turns out the name of the card is case sensitive. The proper names need to be capitalized, but the smaller words are not to be capitalized. So quix the devious, Quix The Devious and any other combination other than Quix the Devious will result in the screen shot below.
Wrap Up
That's it for today. Keep the proper names capitalized and the small words lower case. You are now equipped to share with all of us how Llama-Kron smoked you once again, complete with photos 😆 Or better yet, about how your Tusk the Wide beat Llama-Kron, or Quix was able to slow down the opposition enough for you to finally crush that pesky General Sloan ranged team?

Good to know! I use that same resource to get my card images for battle posts, but was lucky enough to have not run into this issue before (I don't own Quix or Kron, and only very rarely rent them out). I'll have to remember this in the future!

For future reference, in English, “the,” “an,” and “a” are called articles. The other snap in between words that describe relation are called prepositions, “and” and “but” are conjunctions. We don’t have a word to cover all the little words except your choice of the vague and accurate “little words.” Thanks for the post.
