My review of the new Splinterlands Ranked Battle Rewards: Glint (warning, language)

Hello Splintergang,

Captaindingus here with a look at the new Rewards program for Ranked Battles in Splinterlands - which is still my favorite #web3 #play2earn game for now.

Lately, Splinterlands has been focusing on reworking a lot of things and they have done a TON of stuff RIGHT!

I'm not the naysayer who's always going to be Negative Nelly over here...

However... sometimes, things look on paper a bit different than they play out in real life.

In this case: The Glint Rewards Shop

How does Glint and the Glint Rewards Shop work?

I'll get to that... but let's look at how things USED to work... WAAAAAAAAAAY BACK in the day!!

* * * Flashback Effects * * *

Ok... a little TOO far back

Back when I first started (and before), at the tail end of Untamed... we used to battle and got Daily Reward Chests.

These Daily Chests had Reward Cards in them... more often than not, they were something along the lines of this stupid guy:

Oh if you only knew the joys of opening chest after chest of this guy!!! Along with the ONE SOLITARY ALCHEMY POTION in your Champ Chest 😡😡😡

Like I said - progress is being made!!

However... if you didn't want to keep your Venari Heatsmiths, you could combine them 400 BCX deep, into a L10 andt/or... SELL THEM on the Market... BECAUSE THAT'S HOW WEB3 IS SUPPOSED TO WORK.

Now, I sorta kinda get why they stopped doing this... "value extraction" blah blah blah - JUST BAN THE FUCKING BOTS ALREADY 😡

Anyways... after they stopped giving away ACTUAL. USEFUL. CARDS... they went to this "Soulbound" system... which is VERY Web2 and not Web3 at all... unless we can "Unlock" them - and this is coming... eventually.

However... MOVING from the Chest system... where RNG bones you quite frequently... we get the Glint Tokens and Glint Shop...

It sounded cool in the Town Hall... it SEEMED like a BIIIIIG upgrade from the Chests... It was a REALLY good idea... BUT IT SUCKS IN REALITY.

Why does it suck??????? Captaindingus, TELL ME WHY!!!!!

untitled.gif

IT SUCKS BECAUSE IT IS STILL RNG BASED 😡

I hope Matt and/or anyone else from the Team reads this: STOP FUCKING US WITH RNG!

I don't want to grind my ass off, spend a bunch of Glint and end up with 42 BCX of MORE SHIT I DON'T WANT OR NEED YET STILL HAVE ZERO FUCKING COPIES OF KULU MASTERMIND.

Glint and the Glint Shop COULD have been amazing and it still can be... but right now:

THE GLINT SHOP IS JUST REWARD CHESTS WITH EXTRA STEPS

untitled.gif

PLEASE. LET. US. BUY. SINGLES.

That's it, that's the solution... because until I can PURCHASE the GODDAMN Soulbound Reward Cards that keep HANDING ME L's DESPITE THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS I HAVE SPENT ON CARDS AND HOURS I HAVE SPENT PLAYING...

I am not spending a SINGLE FUCKING GLINT ON THOSE STUPID "DRAWS" 😡😡😡😡😡

I do hope this makes my point clear...

I have played TCG's for YEARS... National Champ level...

I've played many games similar to Splinterlands but this one is the closest to being AWESOME...

BUT FOR FUCKS SAKE, I DON'T KNOW ANY GAME WHERE YOU CAN'T JUST BUY ALL THE CARDS/PIECES TO PLAY THE GAME!!!

untitled.gif

I am obviously growing increasingly frustrated with this system and it needs to be addressed.

Since we can't "value extract" the SBRCs... Let us buy the ones we WANT.

Anyways... that's my review of the new Splinterlands Ranked Battle Reward System: Glint Token and Glint Shop
