Splinterlands Botting, explained and thoughts - Part 1

avatar

Hey guys,
Its been a couple of crazy weeks trying to get the perfect solution that fits my needings, so I thought it would be ok to write a post and share some thoughts/knowledge between you all.

Im a player. I like the game. I hold DEC, SPS, Cards -CP over 200k-, but I also rent my cards since the ECR is kind of a downside to play a lot and the rentals are crazy, so I just do the daily quests and I fit my deck with eventual rents. That being said Im not only a botter. I never sold a single reward card -sometimes for flipping, but HODLING for the longterm.

But why rentals are so damn HIGH now? Let me explain it to you:

It seems like the rewards -chest value+dec- are high enough to sustain over a 100 CP/DEC rented in Peakmonsters. Since they introduced autorentals, botting become more viable -even more viable- since people can just put some bids on some gold/cards. What does this means:

Botter 1 rents 5000 of collection power with autorental, some chicken, creeping ooze, and wavesmith, at a rate of 140 CP/DEC. The total cost is 35,7 DEC.
He just run the account until the rental finishes. At an average of 0,5 DEC per win in 200 battles from ECR to 10%, and a winrate of 47%, the total DEC earned is 47.
So basically, an account with 0 cards just by renting and using an opensource bot is making
47-35.7DEC = 11.3 DEC PROFIT WITH 0 INVESTMENT

But we are not even talking about the chest, which easily could be another 20 dec even in bronze on average.

So, it may not seems a lot, but since it can escalated as much as you want, you are earning an avg of 30 DEC per account per day, makes sense that a lot of bot rings have over 1k accounts.

Examples?
luuquyen041
luuquyen040
luuquyen039

Basically, in 1 month, not counting computing of the DEC/CP/REWARDS, you are getting almost 100% ROI on your 10$ investment doing... NOTHING.

Of course, thanks to Peakmonster and the autorentals, you can even go a little bit further and rental specific cards/gold and do the same. Thats why you see a lot of guys in GOLD with fullrentals and battles set at 1min, not even possible for a human. Examples:
unsung1990
lee20

With the gold daily quest rewards, plus the dec rewards per battle, those accounts are making over 10$ per day. Not EVEN OWNING A SINGLE CARD. But the cost is a little bit higher since they need to tweak the bot and do their own settings, winning at a 50% in GOLD is not as easy as bronze, but if you get the right setup/api... you get the idea.

IS THERE ANY SOLUTION TO BOTTING?
Dont get me wrong, botting is not bad here. Owners of the cards gets paid, and the botters gets paid too. But it should be as simple as just renting your cards higher so the botters can not profit from them and just real players fill their deck. If, instead of delegating my power to my alts, I can rent the cards for 100 CP, of course Im not going to play with my alts and just enjoy the rentals/sps airdrops.

DO YOU RECOMEND BOTTING?
Absolutely yes. If you have some spare account, or even your own account, and you dont have enough time to play, it just doesnt make sense let it alone doing nothing.

Thats the link of the most used bot, people tweak it and make it their own or just change the code and add some specifics, but is the mainly one. Big credits to the author.
IT IS SUSTAINABLE LONG TIME?
Probably yes. As long as the dec rewards stays the same, and the people dont rent their cards for a higher price, botters are gonna bot. If the players rent their cards for high, botters get out of the game and just cardholders/gamebelievers stays, so the price of the cards go up and probably is more profitable for the player longtime.

In the next posts I will explain how to set up a VPS, configure the bots, my current bot setup and what am I planning to do and expect from the Chaos Legion release.

If you are a developer/java and are interested in working with me, feel free to text me :)

Hope you enjoyed it!
