This week's share your battle challenge involves using a card from the life splinter.

A veteran who excels at defending your squad while at the same time being able to attack from any position.

His wizard skills are epic and shall set you free!

Without further ado let's look into it!

Theme: Defender of Truth

The Defender of Truth is an epic card from the alpha and beta edition. A true old schooler.

It requires a low amount of mana, starts with a magic attack of one and a great defense.

He is pretty similar in comparison to the light elemental. It excels defensively and lacks behind offensively at level 1.

Its main selling point is the protect ability at level 3. He is also able to deal a lot of damage with 2 magic damage.

This is what makes the Defender of Truth an interesting asset.

The Defender can be yours for 1.1$ at the moment. You can rent it for 0.001$ a day on PeakMonsters as well

I believe this is appropriate, this card is able to protect you while dealing considerable damage at the same time

Where NOT to use

On matches with the unprotected ruleset the Defender loses one of its main selling points

On matches with a high mana cap the available options are better.

Weak Magic

During armored up every monster has an armored defense of 2. This can be boosted by the Defender.

The Defender qualifies for little league, for the life splinter he is one of the best options available. Starting at level 2 he is as good as the light elemental offensively

With the Equal Opportunity ruleset his speed and attack can prove a deadly combination while at the same time offering protection to the lineup.

On Weak Magic the armor and the defender's protect ability becomes an important as it is able to boost the whole lineup's defence.

The Battle

This Battle took place in a ranked game. It involves the ruleset of "Close Range" and "Heavy Hitters"

For this battle I brought Tyrus Paladium at level 3 whereas my rival brought Kretch Tallevor at level 2.

On terms of level this war was somewhat equal with my cards being slightly higher

My Lineup

Silvershield Knight: The Knight is an usual card for the life splinter. His inpire ability is invaluable
Luminous Eagle: The combination of the eagle with the knight is one of the best for these levels. Due to inspire its attack rises to 4
Defender of Truth : The Defender of the Week. Able to deal magic damage and destroy those cards with the shield ability.
Silvershield Assassin: Brings a great amount of attack due to double strike. Great for taking down the cards on the backline.
Sand Worm : Deals massive damage. Forms a deadly duo with the assassin.
Divine Healer: A must have for certain battles. Great for extending the lifeline of the cards on the frontline

This was a very close battle.

My strategy of focusing on sneak damage was spot on. That being said my rival was able to counter it with a smart choice, namely the Fire Spitter.

Due to its High speed and its flying ability my sneaking duo struggled to
take it down.

My rival was also able to counter my healing abilities with the serpentine mystic.

Fortunately for me my rival's Sand Worm was on the second position, this saved my Sand Worm and Divine Healer.

My Defender of Truth died unceremoniously by receiving magic damage, this is perhaps the biggest weakness of the defender.

It was however able to defend the most offensive cards on my lineup for a little bit.

This battle shows how important the positioning in a battle can be. Had my rival put his Sand Worm further behind the outcome would certainly have been different.
