Going the Distance is the ruleset for this week's Battle Mage Secret weekly challenge. We can use only ranged attack monsters with the Going the Distance ruleset. This one is my favorite ruleset. Actually, this ruleset is easy for me as I am used to it a lot. Choosing the right splinter is very necessary with this ruleset. I mostly use fire or water splinter with the 'Going the Distance' ruleset. Because there are really good ranged attack monsters in both Fire and Water Splinter. While choosing a ranged attack monster we have to also check their ability. Ranged attack monsters with close-range ability are good for first or second position in our battle lineup.

Ruleset: Odd Ones Out, Going the Distance

  • Going the Distance: We can use only monsters with ranged attack or monsters who has two types of attack with one type of attack must be ranged attack.
  • Odd Ones Out: We can use only monsters who have odd mana costs. This ruleset really reduces the option of monsters to choose for our battle lineup.

Mana cap: 41
Splinters: Fire, Water, Death, Dragon

My Strategy For The Battle

As the ruleset is Going the Distance, I have to choose ranged attack monsters. So, I have some good really good ranged attack monsters in water and fire splinter. There was limited splinter to choose from, hence I decided to choose a water splinter. My strategy is to choose Kelya Frendul summoner as it will give one extra armor and speed to my friendly monster and I will try to choose a monster with a good attack at the back of my battle lineup. I very well know that the armor will really help me in this battle.

Kelya Frendul (Summoner)
Kelya Frendul is one of the best summoners of water splinter. This summoner is much more effective even if your opponents have a stronger summoner. I like this summoner because it gives one extra armor and speed to our friendly monsters. In this battle, I can choose only ranged attack monsters because of the Going the Distance ruleset. So armor will definitely help much in the battle. So this is my perfect choice for the summoner.

1. Angelic Mandarin
I chose the Angelic Mandarin monster in the first position of my battle lineup because it has 5 health which is too good. I really need the monster who has good health at the front of my battle lineup, so this one is a really good choice. Angelic Mandarin costs 3 mana and has 1 ranged attack and 2 speeds at level one.

2. Gargoya Devil
Gargoya Devil has close range and flying ability. I put this monster intentionally in the second position as it has good attack and close-range ability. So, if Angelic Mandarin dies still this monster continue to attack. However, the health of Gargoya Devil is not that much. The best thing is that this one is a neutral monster so we can choose this monster with any splinter.

3. Crustacean King
The Crustacean king is a common ranged attack monster. Here, I used the level 4 Crustacean King monster. It has a Tank heal ability which is really gonna help me in this battle. It has one armor as well, so I put this monster in 3rd position. Now I have to use monsters with stronger attacks. So, I decided to use monsters with good attacks from the 4th position.

4. Swamp Spitter
Swamp Spitter is one of my favorites ranged attack monsters. I have really cool stats such as 2 ranged attacks, 3 speeds, 5 health, and 2 armor at level 3. The repair ability of this monster is very useful especially if we have monsters with good armor in our battle lineup. Here I used a level 3 Swamp Spitter gold card. My reason to choose this monster in 4th position is because of this good attack and should stay alive for a longer time in the battle.

5. Gobson Bomber
I am using level 3 Gobson Bomber in the fifth position of my battle lineup. This is one of my favorites ranged attack monsters. It has 2 ranged attacks, 3 speeds, and 4 health at level 3. This neutral monster is good to choose at the end of our battle lineup. Also, this monster has Recharge and Camouflage ability makes it the most dangerous monster and it will not die until it's in the first position of our battle lineup. So, this is the best monster for a stronger attack.

6. Sniping Narwhal
Snipping Narwal is a common water monster. It costs 5 mana and has 2 ranged attacks, 2 speeds, and 4 health. Also, it has a snipe ability, hence I decided to put this monster in my battle lineup. This monster is going to be very reliable, especially against ranged attack monsters.

My opponent's battle lineup seems stronger at first glance. He selected really good ranged attack monsters. However, my opponent didn't use Monster with good health in the first and second positions. So, here I got a little advantage. Also, the Opponent's summoner does not give any stat buffs.

In the first round, my monster got one extra armor and speed because of my Klya Frendul summoner. My first monster died too soon. At the same time, my Snipping Narwhal monster killed the opponent's second monster because of its snipe ability.

In the second round, my monsters killed the opponent's first monster and third monsters quickly. All thanks to my monster who has a stronger attack and especially the Snipping Narwhal monster really helped me a lot in this battle.

In the third round, the Opponent's three monsters are left and my five monsters are left alive. Now my victory seems certain. My monsters did really well and killed opponents' monsters one by one. The opponent's next monster also died at the end of this round.

In the fourth round, my monster killed the opponent's remaining two monsters. So, I won this battle very easily. I thought it is going to be a very tough battle, but actually, it was too easy.

Finally, I won the battle.

Conclusion

Thankfully I used the Snipping Narwhal monster otherwise I would have lost this battle. This monster really helped a lot in this battle. Also, my Swamp Spitter and Gobson Bomber Monster did really well as they have much stronger attack and speed. Everything works well and I won the battle easily.
