Equalizer is the ruleset for this week's Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge. With the Equalizer ruleset, all monsters will have the same health. Whichever monster has the highest health in both the teams, then all monsters will have that much health. This ruleset is quite challenging as we have to choose monsters very carefully, and also need to utilize mana cap strategically. If the total mana cap is low then we need to use low mana monsters.

Battle Challenge Rulset

Equalizer

Ruleset: Equalizer, Fire & Regret

  • Equalizer: All monsters will have the same health equal to that of the monsters with the highest health in both teams.
  • Fire & Regret: All monsters will get the Return Fire ability.

Mana cap: 17
Splinters: Water, Earth, Life, Death

My Strategy For The Battle

My strategy is to use zero mana monsters in the front position of my battle lineup. Also, I will use some strong monsters with relatively lower mana as the total mana for this battle is only 17 mana. I will focus on magic attacks, so I would like to go with water splinter.

Alric Stormbringer (Water Summoner)
I chose Alric Stormbringer water summoner, here I can use a level 5 gold card in the battle. This summoner adds one extra magic attack to all our magic monsters in the battle lineup. This is one of the best summoners if we have magic monsters in the battle lineup and it costs only 3 mana.

1. Torrent Fiend
I put the Torrent Fiend monster in the first position because it is a zero-mana monster and has a melee attack too. So, it will give me a good defense as its health will increase because of the Equalizer ruleset. This card is a legendary card, here I used a level 1 card.

2. Furious Chicken
Again I used zero mana monster in the second position. The Furious Chicken monster did not have any attack, so I thought to put it in the second position. If my first monster dies then this monster will give some defense to my battle lineup.

3. Spirit Miner
I put Spirit Miner monster in the third position of my battle lineup. I used this monster in the middle of my battle lineup because it has a stronger magic attack. Also, this monster has Dodge and Swiftness abilities. Dodge's ability enables monsters to have a 25% higher chance of evading melee or ranged attacks. Swiftness ability will increase the speed of all friendly monsters by one speed. This legendary neutral monster costs 6 mana, here I used a level 2 monster and it has 2 magic attacks, 2 speed, 6 health, etc.

4. Ruler of the Seas
I put Ruler of the Seas monster in the fifth position. This one is a legendary water monster that has a stronger magic attack. It costs 6 mana and it has 3 magic attacks, 3 speed, 5 heath, etc. I used this monster because of its Blast and Swiftness ability.

5. Ice Pixie
At last only 2 mana left, So I decided to use the Ice Pixie magic monster.
I used this monster deliberately because of its Flying ability. The Flying ability helps evade melee or ranged attacks from monsters who don't have the Flying ability. So, it will provide much better defense from the back side of my battle lineup.

My opponents have used Death Splinter and the battle lineup seems stronger. He used 3 melee monsters and 2 magic monsters. Let's see how the battle goes.

At the start of the first round, all monsters got the Return Fire ability and all monsters' health became the same because of the battle rulesets. The health of all monsters is 6. The magic attack of my monsters is increased by one and also decreased by one because of the respective summoners from both sides. Also, my health is decreased by one because of the opponent's summoner. My monster's speed is increased by one because of the friendly monster which has Swiftness ability. My monster's speed could have increased by two speeds, but it increased by one speed because opponents used the Creeping Ooze monster which has a Slow ability.

In the first round, My monsters easily killed the opponent's first monster. Then the opponent's monster did a great amount of damage on my first monster and my monsters also did damage to the opponent's next monster.

In the second round, my first monster died and my opponent's second monster died. The opponent's magic monster's health is increased because of its Life Leech ability, but my monster has a stronger attack. So, I am in a good position in this battle.

In the third round, I have 4 monsters left and the opponent has 4 monsters left alive too. The opponent's next magic monster has only one health, so in the very next attack, this monster dies. My Ruler of the Seas monster helped me a lot in this battle as it does half the damage to the adjacent monster as well while attacking monsters.

In the fourth round, the opponent has 3 monsters left alive while my 4 monsters are still alive. At the end of this round opponent's next magic monster also died.

In the fifth round, the opponent has only two monsters left and again my 4 monsters are still alive. The opponent's next monster died soon and now my victory seems certain.

Finally, I won the battle. ✌️
