I think if I play with my wits I will continue to earn nothing so having the bot is awesome. But now that I'm learning what it does I can see myself buying cards and playing for myself again. But I honestly don't see how new players will get hooked into the game without the bots.

Understandable. Not every one does. It is quite challenging building up the collection power on a budget. That would be the main reason, I would think. It is definitely not an easy game to pick up. You have to learn all the abilities and be able to play those abilities between the rulesets. Kind of a difficult start for many who are just coming to the game. I think some people will mostly grind due to the earning chests. Getting into bronze is fairly easily done. Even for new players. Having a bot certainly helps!
