My First Investment Into Splinterlands

Today, I spent my first fifty dollars on Splinterlands and I want to break down what I got and why!

First, I bought Djinn Oshannus because I have been having a lot of success with Alric builds and Oshannus fits into these very well! He also has the void ability which makes him even better in an Alric Vs Alric battle!

Second, I wanted to snag a few staples that I have noticed a lot of people using that are neutral monsters. The two neutral cards that I got are Creeping Ooze and Gelatinous Cube. Creeping Ooze is great to fill in that leftover mana as it costs one and it nerfs all the opponents speed which can lead to many favorable outcomes such as misses or you killing their units before they get to attack even! The Gelatinous Cube is another tank that I can use in any class. This card most likely shines it's brightest once it gets the heal ability which is not until level six, but I think I can find some uses for it until then!

Third, I got some cheap cards from a few different classes that I thought it would be nice to have. These cards include Exploding Rats, Nightmare, and Venari Crystalsmith. Both the Exploding Rats and the Nightmare I bought because I am a HUGE fan of the blast ability. I am not even sure if either of these cards are good, but I do think that I will enjoy them! The Venari Crystalsmith I bought because it is a unit that has the tank heal ability. I think this card will serve me well in battles where the mana is absurdly large and I can pair it with the big light splinter tanks or play in the dragon splinter to pair it with Djinn Chwala.

Lastly, I bought three Pelacor Deceivers to round out the last little bit of credits I had. I think that this card seems really strong to me at max level and it is cheap enough right now that spending 45 cents to get three of them does not bother me!

After all of those purchases, my power went from 450 all the way up to 1045. This is just enough to boost me out of bronze III, but is still a far cry from the 15000 that I need to enter the silver leagues. Hopefully, these purchases will allow me to advance to higher ranks where I can earn more DEC that I can in turn reinvest back into cards.
