Here's how much you can SPEND to complete the "Foundations" SET deck

In my last post, I talked broadly about the costs associated with the āFoundationsā set, referring to the cards themselves and what really contributes to their low price, as well as some interesting recommendations for completing decks. Of course, one of the smartest strategies you can use is to complete the campaign mode and also buy some cards, however, in that post I didnāt show how much it would cost to buy some of those cards to complete the deck, since if the goal is to compete, itās necessary to do soāotherwise, unfortunately, youāll struggle in āFrontierā mode.
Thatās why today Iāll show you the real cost of these cards and some challenges Iāve encountered along the wayāthings Iāve realized that youāll likely come across if you want to apply the strategy and step-by-step guide from the previous post, But if you want to know what this is all about, stick around until the end of this post so you can understand the details and make your own plans before diving in. Of course, even though I offer gameplay recommendations, the reality is that in this mode you can practically start with no investment and keep it that wayāsince if you decide to do so, itās best to choose a different āformat,ā but in another post, I might explain the differences and advantages of each format.
However, if you want to see the actual costs associated with these letters and also learn about all the details I've come across along the way, stick around until the end of this post so you can find out everything:

What are the āpricesā of the cards other than the ones given for free in the game?

As I mentioned in my previous postāwhich, if you havenāt read it yet, you can read in full by clicking HERE. I mentioned that the prices of these cards are very low and that this stems from certain details I also explain in that post. However, to make it much more visual, I decided to conduct the test myself and include the cards that arenāt given out for free in the gameāat least to my knowledge. So, letās see which cards these are and how much they cost, and as I go along, Iāll share a few observations with you:
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
|---|
As you can see in the three images, there are a total of 24 additional cards from the āFoundationsā set, in addition to the free onesāthough BEWARE, I may have missed a card or two, but theyāre all there. On the other hand, I wonāt go into detail about the price of each card, since in my last post I explained why these cards are so inexpensive compared to those in other sets. However, I should mention that these cardsāIām referring to the 24 listed hereāhave a total cost of $13,087, payable in DEC or Credits, if Iām not mistaken.

NOTE
While it doesnāt cost much to get several of these cards, I think what Iāve noticedāand this is part of what Iāll discuss in the next section of this postāis that the idea behind buying cards is for them all to be as balanced as possible, and thatās one of the problems I see. When a deck isnāt balanced in terms of the cardsā rarities and power levels, it can undermine the performance of the deck youāre trying to build in āFoundations.ā

What are the issues with buying these āFoundationsā cards?

Essentially, thereās no problemāthe reality is that you can buy as many cards as you want, depending on whatās available and what other users are willing to sell. However, looking at it from a more analytical perspective and considering the impact it could have on your gameplay and performance, itās not a good idea. The reality of this set is that the following happens:

Problems When Purchasing "Foundations" Cards
There isn't enough liquidity in the market: When I say this, I mean that there aren't enough copies of listed cards available on the market to buy and put together the deck that many people are trying to buildāsince it's one of the most affordable decks in the game, perhaps even second only to āChaos Legion.ā
Level Disparity: As I mentioned earlier, this isnāt good because, if you want to play seriously and climb to the top of the leagues in the āFrontierā format, you need balance in your cards. And while this might not really matter for some cardsāsince there isnāt much disparity or variation in their default abilities or statsāitās likely to be an issue with some of the most important ones.
NOTE: If we put these two things into perspective, the performance isn't the same compared to the cards in "Rebellion, Conclave Arcana, and Escalation"āand even older editions. That's why I don't recommend doing this. In other words, if you want to invest, you're better off focusing on other editions.

Conclusion

This is key to progressing in the game, and itās something new players should keep in mind. While itās one of the most amazing ways to get started for free, leveling up means you need to improve your deckāand thatās really tough right now. Of course, you can earn rewards by completing missions and other tasks, but if you want to take the game seriously, youāre better off with the other SETS.

Maybe you have right that it could be not enough liquidity for foundation cards especially gold foils, but you need only max them to silver level and many cards are on the market with enough bcx š
