In recent weeks, I have been sharing battle strategies, so that the community can try to replicate the same and can improve their win rate in the game, this has also allowed me to greatly improve the way I play and think each formation, as I try to use all the resources I have at my disposal to always give a close and interesting battle to my opponent, the goal is simple, win or simply complicate things for my opponents.

On the other hand, in this opportunity, I come to bring you a strategy very similar to the previous one, but with some notable additions that made it a little different, basically the battle that I will describe below, is almost the same formation that I described in a previous post, only with some variations that made my formation, an impenetrable wall against one of the strongest Splinters in the game that, as I have always said, are the "Dragons". Also, I honestly didn't know if I was going to come out victorious, since my opponent played really well and with a set of very strong dragons with mind-blowing abilities, so, I hope you enjoy this battle as much as I did.

Before I detail what my strategy was and the variants I placed, I will explain the card that, in my opinion, made me win this great battle against my opponent's powerful "Dragons". So, stay tuned and read the whole post, I'm sure you will like it:

"River Hellondale" is a legendary card of the "Water Splinter" of the new edition of "Chaos Legion" and in my opinion, a perfect addition to this team, which, until the release of this new edition, the maximum power of the water team was the magic attacks, being this the Splinter that most used this type of direct attacks, since I particularly like the magic and its ability to inflict direct damage to the life points of the monsters. On the other hand, "River Hellondale", has a unique design in its type, which I love, since its colors, finishes and freshness really fascinated me, also, taking into account that it is a card specialized in providing "Support" in battle, this is a mage, able to increase the frontal capabilities of the monsters with "Melee" attacks, highlighting that it also has the ability to revive a fallen monster on the battlefield, among other very useful skills.

Taking into account this and its characteristics as a "Legendary" type card, I will proceed to detail its main statistics and evaluate its range on the battlefield:

  • Life Points: This is not a direct offensive card, but rather a monster capable of providing good support to the whole team on its side of the field, this means that its life points are not very high, in that sense, at the level that I use it, it has +4 vital points, very good and that give me enough time to be able to execute one of its main abilities in the field.
  • Shield: This is not a monster that stands out for its great defense, however, it is capable of resisting some frontal attacks if it has the opportunity to face other cards face to face, so, its shield at level 3 is only +1 point, however, combining this card with the fabulous summoner of the type "Rara" of the new edition called "Kelya Frendul", this gets +1 additional shield point, having a total of +2 points.
  • Speed: Its speed is not its strong point either, since, as I mentioned before, this is not a card that stands out for its great offensive power, but rather, it stands out more in the role of a good and powerful "Support", so its speed is +2 points at level 3, which increases thanks to "Kelya Frendul" in +1 point, giving it a total of +3 points.
  • Attack: As I mentioned before, "River Hellondale" is a kind of mage, capable of providing support to the entire team on our side of the field, in that sense its attack is not very powerful, but it is of the magical type, which also makes it a very versatile card, since at level 3, it has +2 points of magical attack, which are really good to support the work done by our battle tank in the first position.

Now that we know the main characteristics of this great card, we must detail its incredible abilities that make this legendary monster an incredible "Support" for the "Water Splinter":

  • Resurrect: This is an incredible ability that has "River Hellondale", which gives us the opportunity to revive a monster fallen in battle on our side of the field, with +1 point of life, which makes it a very powerful card, since having the ability to revive a monster on the field, gives a very good advantage if we know how to position it.

  • Inspire: This ability called "Inspire", is one of my favorite in the game, since, with it, we can increase the melee attack power of all the monsters on our side of the field in +1 point. The power that this card can have by combining it with the fabulous water summoner "Kelya Frendul", is impressive and you will see it when it's my turn to write my formation in the lineup section.

  • Dispel: This ability is often underestimated by some players of "Splinterlands", however, it is a very good one, as it is able to remove all the positive effects that have acquired the cards of our opponents, if "River Hellondale" manages to reach it with an attack, which is very likely, because having a type of magic attack, greatly increases the chances that the opponent's card is affected with "Dispel".

This is a card that I highly recommend to level up and also use it in conjunction with the summoner called "Kelya Frendul", to get a higher win rate, the combination with this summoner is deadly and really wins if of course, we know how to use it and when to use it.

Melee battles have always appealed to me, in fact, I really enjoy seeing the frontal attacks that monsters do when they are on the battlefield, so, taking this into account, this battle was characterized by being really close and complicated, since my opponent had a full lineup of only "Dragon" type monsters, which for nobody is a secret that they are the strongest cards in the game, however, it does not mean that they are not possible to defeat, which I clearly proved in this impressive battle, where the power of different dragons of different editions and the strength of the monsters of the water team are put to the test.

My strategy was simple and basically looked a lot like the strategy I posted in my last post, the only different variant I was able to add to my battle alienation was my fabulous "River Hellondale" and his awesome "Support" abilities, which make a lot of confluence with the great "Support" provided by me "Merdaali Guardian" and his "Shield and life" regeneration abilities. So, based on this, my formation was based on placing a large tank in the first position, taking advantage of the large amount of mana for this battle, keeping in mind that this should have both a moderate amount of shield and a very good amount of health to withstand a large number of attacks.

On the other hand, due to the battle rules, I focused on using cards with a very powerful "Melee" attack, regardless of their abilities, since, thanks to the "Super Sneak" rule, they would all attack the last card of my opponent's formation, however, I made sure they were really strong and would give me an advantage in terms of hit points, I also had to have a higher speed than my opponent's cards in order to have the advantage of being the first to attack, a particularity that was quite close, since some of his "Dragons" had a very good speed rivaling mine, even with the increased power of my "Kelya Frendul".

The rest is history and it only remains for you to watch the development of this direct confrontation of "Dragons against the Water Splinter".

Rule of my Battle

Super Sneak & Equalizer with 50 Mana.

  • Mana: 50
  • Super Sneak: All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability.
  • Equalizer: The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.

Kelya Frendul

This was my chosen summoner for this battle, since due to the "Super Sneak" rule, I wanted to fight with a larger amount of melee cards in my offense, all in order to act in confluence with the rule and make my attack compenetrate into one, having as a direct target, the last card of my opponent's formation on the field. So, with the help of "Kelya", I was able to increase the shield and speed of all my monsters, to give them both defense and offense at the same time.

The Kraken

Undoubtedly one of the best tanks I've seen in the game and really one of the strongest, since its impressive resistance allowed my entire offensive team to do their job properly, of course with the help of my legendary support "River Hellondale", which allowed him to return to the battlefield with only +1 health, which was enough for my "Merdaali Guardian" to help him and not leave the field again. On the other hand, the incredible ability of my "Kraken" called "Taunt", helped me to protect my entire lineup, since all my opponent's attacks went straight to him. In addition, it helped me to weaken my opponent's melee attack thanks to his "Demoralize" ability and increased his abilities twice as much with "Enrage", giving him a devastating power of up to +8 attack points and +8 speed.

Flying Squid

With the "Equalizer" rule in play, I didn't really focus on the monsters I chose for this battle having the most vital points, since they would all copy the total points of my "Kraken", which is the card with the most points. Therefore, I only focused on placing monsters with a strong melee attack power, so, taking this into account, I chose my "Flying Squid" to occupy the second place in my alignment, only observing its great speed and melee attack points, which, thanks to the combination of my cards amounted to +4 points.

Deeplurker

This is one of the most important cards in my offensive thanks to its fabulous "Poison" ability, which allows it to poison my opponent's card that I manage to reach with its fast and fierce melee attack, besides, it obtained a great increase of power thanks to my "River Hellondale and Demented Shark", due to its ability called "Inspire". This monster was determinant in my victory, besides of course the important increase of speed that my summoner "Kelya Frendul" gave me.

River Hellondale

This is a key card in my battle alloy thanks to its incredible support abilities that it brings to my whole formation, also as I had already commented, due to its "Resurrect" ability in confluence with my "Merdaali Guardian", they were able to make my powerful "The Kraken" return to the battlefield stronger than ever and could defeat the powerful tank of my opponent called "Djinn Chwala", this allowed me to win the battle and defeat this imposing group of "Dragons" that had everything in their power to defeat my water team.

Merdaali Guardian

This is another of the key cards that will help me win this hard-fought battle, because, thanks to its great "Repair and Tank Heal" abilities, my "The Kraken" together with my "River Hellondale", could defeat the most complicated and powerful card of my opponent's formation, therefore, these cards gave the opportunity to my whole formation to win this important and complicated battle. A "Rare" type card, very valuable and incredible in the "Water Splinter".

Demented Shark

This is the last card of my formation and another of the cards that increased the total melee power of my entire team, thanks to its intrinsic ability called "Inspire", so, together with my "River Hellondale", it gave +2 attack points to my entire team, which made it manage to overcome the ability of its legendary summoner "Camila Sungazer", which focuses on removing +1 melee attack point to my entire team.

This battle was really impressive and I thought I couldn't fight against a team led by the powerful "Camila", since her ability would weaken all my monsters, however, my instinct together with the "Super Sneak" battle rule, made me think that I would need a significant increase in attack power to be able to be victorious. In addition, I have to emphasize that my opponent totally surprised me with his lineup, since I had played with different teams without having a clear pattern of formations that would allow me to devise a strategy against the "Super Sneak" battle rule, this being the most prominent of them.

So, what I came up with was to defend myself as much as I could and at the same time have a great attacking power, seeking to anticipate any dangerous attack that my opponent would orchestrate. In addition, my opponent's formation did not have many flaws, their team was very complete and was designed to directly neutralize my tank, which allowed them to defeat my "Kraken", however, what my opponent did not expect was that I placed a "Support" card as useful as "River Hellondale" to the field, which changed everything, since it brought from the graveyard my terrible "The Kraken" reinforced with my "Merdaali Guardian".

From this resurrection of my tank and its vital recovery, my offensive cards were able to complete the complicated job of first defeating my opponent's "Gloridax Soldier", which was a complicated monster for melee attacks, thanks to its "Flying" ability, a quality that the last 4 cards of my opponent had, something that put all the odds against me, but the difference between both lineups, was already present on the field, starting with my "The Kraken", followed by my "River Hellondale" and finally my "Merdaali Guardian".

So, to end this post of strategy and surprise for this great battle, I hope this formation can help those less experienced in the game to survive a deadly "Dragons" attack, having the odds against you, but making a big difference with a couple of support cards and a great battle tank.

Nicely summed up.
It's one of the best combinations for Super sneak battle with The Kraken attracting all the attack towards it and that repair monster is very crucial there.

Yes, it was just what I thought, besides giving one more chance to me "The Kraken" if he left the field and was defeated, which happened thanks to me “River” with Merdaali's support. 💪
