Best regards Splinterlovers đź’š

It’s been almost two weeks since I posted about the strongest “offensive” skills in the entire game as of 2026. I don’t remember if I mentioned whether I’d be doing a series of posts on this topic, but it’s clear that I should, since there are so many types of skills. Today, I want to show you and help you get started on your journey to mastering these skills, which are my favorites to use when devising game strategies.

Of course, this guide won’t be like all the other guides you might come across out there, and I’m not claiming it’s the best either. The truth is, what I’m about to share with you is extremely simple, but it contains the real information you need to excel in the game and understand how things work. However, before we begin, I should tell you that if you don’t apply the theoretical knowledge from these posts, you’ll never learn—and that’s more of a piece of advice.

Of course, everyone decides for themselves what to watch and what not to, but my goal is to help you play like pros. Back in the day, I competed in this game at the highest levels, so I know what I’m talking about. Even though I play casually now, I can still guide you in that regard. But without further ado, let’s get to the information:

"Life Recovery" Abilities

Okay, guys, let’s kick things off with this analysis and start with the “Support” cards that focus on healing. These are the most commonly used cards in the game and are some of my favorites, since I sometimes focus my gameplay on protecting my units. Next up will be the “Protection” cards, but I’ll break down the healing abilities below:

image.png

  • Tank Heal: It is, without a doubt, one of the oldest healing abilities in the game. As the name suggests, it focuses on healing the “Tank” currently on our side of the field—specifically, the card in position 1—and will continue to heal that card throughout the entire match as long as the card with this ability remains on the field.

  • Triage: This is one of my favorite abilities because its effect is spectacular: it restores one-third of the health of the card that has taken the most damage during the battle. In short, if a card on our side of the field has taken the most damage so far this round, the card with “Triage” focuses on restoring one-third of that card’s health.

  • Heal: Although it is by far the oldest of them all, it basically focuses on restoring the health of the same card each round.

  • Corrupted Healing: This is the newest ability in this category. It basically restores up to 70% of the health of all units on our side of the field, but in exchange for everyone receiving that healing, they lose 1 point of maximum health each time it activates. So it depends on when you use it.

Cards that represent these abilities

  • Anasth Soothsayer (Rebellion): You could say this card is a perfect fit as a support card, since it combines Tank Heal, Cleanse, and Triage as it levels up.

  • Jicarilla the Rime (Conclave Arcana): This card is one of my favorites, though I must admit it’s because of the design. It’s a legendary card that not only has Tank Heal but also has an ability called Echo, which allows its heals to trigger twice per turn.

  • Grayhammer Painsmith (Promo 2026): This card is really good; I see it as a dwarf who can heal himself with (Heal) while weakening the enemy.

"Shield and Armor Protection" Abilities

The next type of “Support” ability focuses on protection and shields. It’s also important to learn about these, because if we combine them with the healing abilities—the ones I explained earlier—we can create a defensive wall in our lineup, without neglecting offense, of course. Balance is key. However, to focus on the protection-type abilities, I’ll explain the following skills:

image.png

  • Protect: This is one of the game's most iconic abilities; it grants +2 shield points to every unit on your side of the field. This might seem like a small amount, but in reality, it's significant and can make the difference between winning and losing.

  • Repair: This is one of my favorite abilities, and it works really well in tandem with the “Triague” ability, since, like the latter, it focuses on repairing the shield of the unit with the most damage on our side of the field. As a result, this can go a long way toward protecting specific offensive units we want to keep safe.

  • Shield: This ability reduces damage from melee and ranged attacks by 1 point. It’s not exactly crucial in battle, but it does give the card more time to do its job on the field.

  • Shield Ward: At the start of each battle, this ability grants the card in front of it the "Shield" ability, which I explained earlier.

Cards with these abilities

  • Ferox Defender (Chaos Legion): A basic common card that grants "Protect" at level 1 and "Repair" at level 6. It's quite good and very useful on the battlefield, even though it's part of the "Wild" format.

  • Ravenhood Warden (Chaos Legion): It grants "Protect" and, upon leveling up, "Inspire," making it a key defensive and offensive asset. In fact, this is one of the abilities that creates the balance I mentioned at the beginning.

  • Adelade Brightwing (Chaos Legion): Although it belongs to the Chaos Legion, it’s still widely used on the battlefield in the “Wild” format because of its ability to repair armor and revive the first unit to fall on our side of the field.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed this overview of “Support” abilities. To be honest, I need to cover more of these types of abilities because I’m not done yet—there are additional “Support” skills that focus on different effects. In the third part of this series, I’ll explain what they are and how they work.

If you have any questions about these skills, please leave a comment on this post. I’ll be happy to respond to your comments.
