Weekly Splinterlands Info

I don't even know where to start this has been a crazy week most a crazy Thursday in the middle of Septembear!!!

Townhall

Okay, so we'll start with the town hall which had Matt on it again which Matt being on a town hall two weeks in a row you'd think would be the big news for Splinterlands but wait there is more!

Runies

Matt, was on to announce the launch of PFP project Runicore the announcement here on the Eth network where Splinterlands will mint an NFTs (Runies). They will be purchasable for $500 on the Eth network. You'll be able to spend vouchers to get a 50% discount and a whitelist spot. This will help the Splinterlands players compete with the whales on the Eth network. While many don't like this because of the Eth network and it's fees the $500 NFT could easily be $550 to purchase and then stake because of gas fees on the Eth network. While you can't wait for lower gas fees to do the purchase you can look at the gas fees and time when it is lower before you stake your Runi.

What will staking your Runi do? When you stake your Runi you'll stake it via a smart contract which will then let Splinterlands know and the Splinterlands account holding that Runi will delegate to you in game so you can then play with that Runi. If you want to trade, rent, or delegate your Runi you will have to do that on the Eth network to trade or via the smart contract to rent / delegate it. If you rent it, that will be an agreement set up between the two parties you will have to enforce / maintain.

So why is this good for Splinterlands, it gets Splinterlands exposure on the Eth network and my get the notice of some of the Eth whales to come to Splinterlands to buy, sell, rent, or play with the cards they buy.

Genesis League Sports

The GLS Whitepaper was also released and can be view at https://whitepaper.genesisleaguesports.com/. We found out the GLS pre-sale packs will start on Oct 18th.
We also found out how GLS will benefit the Splinterlands community:

  • GLX tokens will be airdropped to everyone that stakes SPS (read whitepaper)
  • GLX tokens can be staked to earn even more rewards
  • KYC information from SPL will most likely be imported into the GLS platform

Additional Items

A streamer mode was released for the web site to block who won a battle so streamers don't know before they go into the battles. This will help with streaming tournaments and interactions with the community. While not a big thing it is something Splinterlands needs as it moves forward.

We found out SPS coming to Brawls is about 90% so we could easily see SPS in brawls very soon.

The Non-Card Market is still targeted for Q4 2022 and will have the same 5% fee which is the same as the regular market.

The tower defense pre-sale will be next week... will the madness continue see below for the madness. Sadly I don't think I will be in the pre-sale myself and Laz will be playing the tower defense and will probably buy some pack but I have spent everything I have available in Splinterlands!!!

Riftwatchers

Enter the mayhem. The Riftwatchers pre-sale was Thursday the 15th. So lets set the stage the two day leading up to the pre-sale. It is Septembear not I think Splinterlands knows this. The week leading up to the pre-sale SPS has been slowly climbing up to .08. Then bitcoin has a pretty big drop and the next day SPS drop from .08 to .07 which is what everyone expects. But SPS slowly climbs back up to .08 even with bitcoin having a pretty big two day drop. These two days I am stress out a bit as my "hope" was to purchase 1 license and 150 RW but in order to do this I needed .08 SPS. As we get close to the time the pre-sale goes live SPS is still climbing it gets around .083. So at about 30 seconds to the pre-sale I purchase my second license and then start to calculate how many RW packs I can buy.

During this I am listening to discord with the Splinterland teams, Hardpoint is calling out the number of RW packs selling and they are flying off the shelf. I did get a purchase of 181, 165 + 16 bonus packs. Around a minute to minute 30 all of the RiftWatchers pre-sale packs have sold out and it is still going.

While this is happening people start to notice licenses are also selling, every time Aggy makes a post and give the number of license sold he has to immediately adjust it as more have sold. We end up selling around 1400 licenses on the same day we sell out the Riftwatchers pre-sale packs in about a minute.

2 Vip tickets for Splinterfeast was also sold during this time and with EoS 20,000 CL packs went out or were sold.

The amount of SPS spent in the middle Spetembear was around 60M and the DAO now has about 30M in it.

How did I do?

Well I have spent every bit more or less of all the SPS I had. My goal was 1 license and 150 packs I was able to get 1 license and 181 packs. So now I have 2 licenses 181 Riftwatchers packs and a grand total of 469 SPS left that is staked. I plan to do some updated each week with how my account is building back up after this week. I'm glad I was able to pick up my second license as Tranche 1 ended up selling out on Thursday.

State of my account

This will be how my account builds back up the license rewards for the 2 licenses is 44.481 SPS and 8 vouchers. The staked SPS I plan to lead staked for right now and watch the market for a couple of days and figure out what I want to do with the vouchers. My plan was always to spend the rest of this year building some passive income and then build my deck as Rebellion comes out. I think this is still my focus but I'll let you know as I figure it out.
