SPS DAO Project Manager Month 2 Invoicing and Recap

The second month on the job has been quite busy. A large chunk of the month has been dedicated to me taking over the tournament hosting process for the DAO and subsequently auditing the tournaments and working with community members on how to reform them. Let's do a brief rundown of each main project that I worked on this month.

We started out the month with several requests to try a second market making proposal which was successful. After the vote passed, I began moving forward on the paperwork and contacting keyholders to execute the contract. As of today I can report that we're finished with paperwork and transfers and that FlowDesk will begin servicing the SPS token on Crypto.com in a few days.

As mentioned earlier, there was a lot of work put towards taking over tournament hosting for the DAO, building out the templates and then creating tournaments. In the process it became clear that there were a lot of inconsistencies with entrance requirements and that we have been rewarding less tokens than the whitepaper outlined.

The first pass at a proposal to apportion tournament rewards did not go all that well, but it did do a great job of raising awareness and bolstering engagement from the community so that we can actually vote on how to structure and apportion our tournaments going forward. There were definitely some challenges.

After it became obvious that we would need more time to work out tournament related issues, it was suggested to pause tournaments by some and to pause only the Alpha tournaments by others. Both options are currently in the preproposal stage to allow the DAO to decide what it wants to do. If they both fail, nothing will change for the time being.

There's been several other proposals worked on and brought forth for the community which you'll find linked below. I also had some early conversations about trying to get support for SPS, HIVE, and Splinterlands in the Exodus wallet. Nothing concrete has come from it, but I'll keep you posted if those discussions go anywhere.

In an effort to further refine the evolving Community Proposal process, I have halted any new Community Proposals and drafted my suggested guidelines and implementation for review and feedback. The goal is to have tighter guidelines which are more directly related to the DAO and SPS token while removing as much bias from the submission process as possible. Essentially, with this new method the DAO would use SPS stake weighted voting to decide if it wants to run and pay for a Community Proposal or not. Look for a vote to approve these guidelines soon.

These are the main highlights for December. The tournament work will continue and I'm optimistic that with the increased attention on the topic that we can work together and build some quality proposals to help us structure our tournaments better going forward. Thanks for the opportunity to serve this community and the SPS DAO!
