What would you like to see for tournament entry fees?
I am often caught in the middle of many opinions on this issue and I think the best solution is to see where the SPS stake votes on this issue.
Do not bring back entry fees.
Keep things as they are right now.
Create standardized entry fees and burn them.
This means that each league would have a set fee. All fees would be burned.
For example, 1 SPS novice, 2 SPS bronze, 4 SPS silver, 7 SPS gold, 10 SPS Diamond. To be clear, these numbers are simply for context, if this option passes we'll hold a poll for what the fees should be.
Create standardized entry fees and keep them.
Same as the previous option, but the fees collected would remain in the tournament account for potential future use.
Bring back refund tier prizes.
Take about 20% of the rewards and use them for "refund tier prizes" like we used to do. Any unused tokens or entry fees will go back to the tournament account.

Get those fees to the tournament account to go to the pool for rewards to pay out validators, battles, and land after the SPS print ends.
That's fine with me... but you know we could just... cut inflation and redirect that inflation where we want it to go. I highly doubt we're going to collect more in fees than we're giving out. Which is currently like 1.8 million SPS per month in tournament rewards.
Sure that makes total sense, but anything that goes back into the reward pool would still be a net positive in my book.
Hopefully tournament fees never get added back. It's not just about paying vs. being free. It's more about the huge time waste that entry fees create when joining tournaments. It's ok when you want to join 1 or 2 but when you want to join that many, it's horrible. I would prefer a tournament pass that gave you access to X tournaments (or all) per season.
Have entry fees, make them Vouchers.
