I'm experimenting on two accounts, I'm upgrading one to silver 3 and other will remain in bronze.
I'll keep record of rewards and DEC gain for the two accounts and post the results.
But for the first day, I can say it is a lot cheaper to farm DEC at bronze 1 (important to have the power), opponents are easier and you get 5-11 DEC per win.

A special mention to @spl_godislove777 that allowed me to try this by delegating me a card worth 20k power. <3

Advancing in silver would be a good idea but having low budget renting for the power (e.g. 200-400DEC/day for the level 3 summoners and other cards for good sets of cards up t0 15k - 40k) would make me think twice next season. I'm in silver but grinding till my ECR burn last time, I calculated it I've earned almost 200DEC a day with renting (win or lose) of almost 100+ DEC as of today (rented up to 15 days till the end of the season) and those renting were not good as the other. I focus on 3 summoners and rent only cards I knew well would go with the game but having an enemy with a much better summoner (which has a higher rental cost such as Lama, Mylor, Kitty, and other legendary summoners) I have a low chance of winning. today I was thinking to stay in silver 3 and finish the daily quest, and be grinding till I get 100DEC to prevent burning much ECR much. and next season I think of staying on bronze as well since I have better cards now when it comes to bronze. Thinking of another source to earn DEC, I'll be renting out my cards. but I'll be a voting silver league for this, since I'm still earning more than I rent.
