As a Splinterlands player who is always on the go, the mobile app has been a great convenience for me. I can access the game and play matches wherever I am, without needing to be at my desktop computer. However, there are some important features of Splinterlands that are not available on the mobile app, and this can be frustrating for players who rely on their mobile devices to play the game.

One of the most significant missing features on the mobile app is guild brawls. Guild brawls are a critical aspect of the game, allowing players to compete with other guilds in a tournament-style format. Not being able to participate in guild brawls on the mobile app means that mobile players are missing out on a significant part of the Splinterlands experience.

Another issue is the lack of timely updates on the mobile app. While desktop players can easily access new updates and features, mobile players may have to wait weeks or even months for updates to be available on the mobile app. This can be frustrating for players who want to stay up to date with the latest changes in the game.

Lastly, purchasing credits can be a bit of a hassle on the mobile app. While it is possible to purchase credits on the mobile app, the process is not as streamlined as it is on the desktop version of the game. This can make it difficult for mobile players to keep up with their in-game purchases and upgrades.

Despite these issues, the Splinterlands mobile app is still a great way to play the game on the go. The app is intuitive and easy to use, and matches run smoothly on most mobile devices. Plus, the convenience of being able to play Splinterlands wherever you are is a major advantage for mobile players.

However, I believe that Splinterlands can do more to improve the mobile app and make it a more comprehensive platform for players. Here are some potential improvements that could be made:

Add guild brawls to the mobile app:

This is the most critical missing feature for mobile players. Adding guild brawls to the mobile app would allow players to participate in this vital aspect of the game, no matter where they are.

Streamline updates:

Splinterlands should work to make updates and new features available on the mobile app as soon as possible. This would keep mobile players up to date with the latest changes in the game, and would help to prevent frustration and confusion.

Improve the purchasing process:

While it is possible to purchase credits on the mobile app, the process could be streamlined to make it more accessible and user-friendly. This would make it easier for mobile players to keep up with their in-game purchases and upgrades.

Expand mobile-specific features:

Splinterlands could work to develop features specifically for mobile players. For example, a more comprehensive tutorial system that is accessible on mobile devices could be helpful for new players.

Overall, I believe that improving the mobile app could help to bring in more players to Splinterlands. The convenience of being able to play on the go is a significant advantage, and if the mobile app is improved, it could attract more players who prefer to play games on their mobile devices. However, it's important to remember that the desktop version of the game will always be the most comprehensive and feature-rich option. Mobile players should expect some limitations and be patient with updates and improvements.

In conclusion, Splinterlands is a fantastic game that has provided me with hours of entertainment. The mobile app is a great convenience, but there are still some areas for improvement. Adding guild brawls to the mobile app, streamlining updates, improving the purchasing process, and expanding mobile-specific features could all help to make the mobile app a more comprehensive platform for players. I encourage the developers of Splinterlands to continue

I think that the tech modernisation process that the team is going through is part of making the game more mobile friendly. Perhaps it won't be a full fledged "app", in the future, but rather an app that is secretly a shortcut to a website; which works well and scales to the mobile screens well.

A lot of apps tend to be built this way, so it could be that they are going in that direction.
