Hahah what the hell no I don't think this would happen. That would completely obliterate the games economy. People with hundreds of thousands of DEC just waiting to buy things would find a way to sue them. Unless there's an official post from the Splinterlands team, I highly doubt this. What may happen is they inject millions more DEC into the game to bring the token price down. It's the highest it's ever been.
Edit: they also couldn't edit your hive engine balances or in game balances without completely ruining their name and reputation. Thousands would quit and hive engine would be done, in my opinion.
