Lineup as per the Rules of Combat

Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.

The problem which usually we face as a newbie or a experience one is to have a lineup of monsters while playing a game so that we can create the winning formula. We all know his but the problem is winning and losing is part of the game, sometimes your best lineup is not as good as opponents one. And sometimes the luck also favors. Luck because with the same speed, your opponents can hit you before you can hit them. So we cant have control of opponents cards or doesn't have control of the luck. The only control we have is to have our best lineup as per the rules of combat.

For example let's go through a game which I recently played where the rules of combat were

  1. Broken Arrows - No Ranged Attacks in the Battle
  2. Briar Patch - All monsters have thorns ability
  3. Maneuvers - All monsters have reach ability

Now with these rules of combat we have two options only Melee and Magic. Now the problem is we should not be using the Melee attack only because of the Briar Patch because we will lose life when we hit. So the only option we have is to have Magic attacks mostly. So as per the rules of combat we should have a lineup which contains mostly Magic is not all. Yeah we can have melee attack monsters also but again I would not prefer having all the melee attack which is not good for my lineup. So for me I have used magic attacks only.

Now the opponent have used all melee attack and thus eventually I have won the game quite comfortably. This is because the opponents monsters not only hitting my monsters but also getting hit because of briar patch. Along with that I have protected which gives +2 armour for my monsters. And because of that it was a comfortable win.

Now as an opponent what should be the best move. Try to have magic attack mostly, this will ensure that you hit your opponents life along with that with briar patch it will not reduce your life. And this is what I meant for lineup as per the rules of combat. The rules plays a lot more factor than the best of your cards. If you have an awesome card and if you don't play by the rules of combat you can be on a losing side. I am not saying you will lose, because it can go any direction. But mostly when you play by the rules of combat, it means you are playing by the book and have a winning team.
