Splinterlands - Reached Gold 2 For the First Time and How I have achieved it

Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.

The last season was great for me not in terms of the rewards I got but it was a first time experience to reach to the Gold 2 level. This was mainly because there was a changes in overall ranked battle in Splinterlands. Previously I used to wait for the last day to go to the Gold 3 because I was not sure if I could compete with the better players in the Gold League.

But after the update where Splinterlands team has removed the league limits means that the there is no leader boards like previously. Also we as a player cannot choose to go to the next level and it will be automatically happen. So not only me, everyone who have a decent card moved to the Gold league from the silver. Along with that I was not facing very tough fight because the match making happened between the closest rating people so sometimes I was winning and then sometimes losing. This has made the system quite simpler to be honest.

Other good thing happened is the rating, previously I used to lose 36 rating points if I lose from a lower opponent. But now it is streamlined, where I will gain 20 as well as lose 20. But if I am on a winning streak of m3 or more than I will gain 40. So it's better to extend your winning streak to quickly go up the ladder. And since I won quite a few games in multiple of 3 or more, I used to gain good ratings. Though I have played only 129 games as because of the time constraint.

And this is how for the first of history of Splinterlands, I went to the Gold 2. I could have reached Gold 1 too, but could not because last day I faced quite a tough opponent. I have got 48 Chests this season, though it was not that great rewards but still it's ok. I have got around 68 Common, 17 Rare and 3 Epic in the whole season and I am ok with it.

The good thing about the cards were that my some of the summoners started reaching Level 3 and Level 4 which gives me some edge in some of the games and thus based on the Rules of Combat I used them. The next is the SPS token, it's good to see the stake of my SPS token is getting better and better. I have staked more than 8K SPS. The APR is around 13.46% which is continuously going down but again the value of SPS has almost doubled in the last 1 year or so.

After this the rating has reset and I am on Silver 1, so starting from Silver 1 is quite good and can reach more high in the coming seasons. So what league you reached after the changes by the Splinterlands.
